Gaylord India Restaurant of Schaumburg

I went there on a recomendation of a friend and was expecting a friendly reception. NOT! Indian food with an attitude would best describe it. Nothing special. more

I was invited to a baby shower at this Indian restaurant in the suburbs. I had heard good things about this place so I was pretty excited to try it. The restaurant was pretty nice and I was impressed with the decor and set up. The restaurant people had arranged nicely for the baby shower. The food was nicely layed out, but it was pretty mediocre food. They had a nice layout of food and good selection to try. But there were only about two things on the menu that I really thought were good and certianly not worth paying for the entire buffet for. more

I heard that the food in Gaylord was good and that's the reason I decided to try the lunch buffet. I was very disappointed. I did not like the buffet and felt that there was not enough items. The taste was not particularly appetizing too. There are so many good Indian restaurants in the area .... you can surely go elsewhere where you can come back having eaten a satisfying meal. more

I've been to Gaylord in Schaumburg several times. It has a wide selection of Indian dishes on its menu. A full service bar with all the fixings is in the premises. It's a neat and clean restaurant. I have been there for dinner, but I believe it's strength is its lunch buffet. That can get packed during the lunch hour. You will find a wide variety of people coming there. I think its reasonable to assume that many Americans are now trying Indian food and loving it. The lunch buffet has many items to choose from. There are appetizers such as samosas and chat. The main courses have many choices for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The food is usually delicious and pleasing. Service can be good or horrible, depending on your server. I don't know if it's a language/cultural barrier or what, but the waiters often seem dismissive. I think it's just the general attitude as even us Indians have expereinced it. Other than that, I think you should give this restaurant a shot. The buffet is probably the best bet and the most reasonably priced. more

The place really reflects its culture. The place looked spectacular. The service was good but it could have been better. The food was good but it took a while for the food to come to me. I would reccommned this place if you are out of options on where to eat but not the last place you consider. more

This is the best place to eat Indian food. Food is superb. Service is good. They have buffet during lunch and you can order from menu for dinner. Price is reasonable compared to other restaurents in the area. There are many items available in the buffet including 3 desserts. They also have a full service bar. more
