Authentic riverboat cruises on the Mississippi 11/3/2005

There are two old time paddle wheel boats that take people out on a cruise of the Mississippi. The seats were comfortable for a short trip, but I would not want to be on it for a longer trip. They had snacks and beverages on board that were not too pricey. The narration was informative and of a good volume level. I would recommend this to visitors to St. Louis. PROS: Relaxing and informative CONS: Crowded during some summer months more

You will be right on the river front and will not get lost coming here to get all of you tickets for all the happen spots around ton. Yo uwill save a ton and be able to see alot of the stuff in one day. more

Gateway Arch Riverboat 7/21/2005

We took an one hour cruise on the riverboat when visiting St. Louis recently and it was so fun. It was very reasonable for a family fun outing. Our 5 year old had never been on a big boat or seen a barge and was really entertained by this. It is air conditioned inside and also has a nice little snack bar and they even have restrooms on the boat. They provide a nice little talking guide of what is going on as you down the river so you also get a little history lesson which turned out to be very interesting. more

Gateway to the West! 6/22/2005

Ths St. Louis Arch is a MUST SEE if you are traveling to or through St. Louis. The views from the top are unbeatable and you'll have quite an adventurous ride to get to the top. The tours are pretty affordable and the museum underneath the arch is great for passing the time. A visit to the arch also brings you close to the Mighty Mississippi riverfront and landing area full of restaurants, shops and casinos. more

the sky's the limit!!! 1/20/2003

definately the best to take a person from out of town to see the city! more

Arch where is the money going? 12/18/2002

The Arch is a good educational and historical place to visit. Make sure you bring extra cash with you if you want to visit the movie, the museum and/or ride up to the top! Pros: educational, historical Cons: expensive, long way from parking, crowded more

Becky and Wanda 12/2/2002

The Arch is a great place for visitors or locals to re-visit. I have been several times. The view is great. Not meant for the closterphobic person. The ride to the top is a little scary, but well worth the wait. Here in St. Louis we have these commercials with Becky and Wanda flying around on a magic carpet by the Arch. Someday I hope the carpet runs out of magic. Pros: view, view, view Cons: elevators, dont serve beer more

hte gateway to the west 10/10/2002

my reviews of the arch is that it is a great place to visit ,a great place to take the family and learn about our history of the west and the history of the building of the arch. but there needs to be a cprrections in the ETA of the tram ride to the top of the ride. it only takes about 7 mins. to ride to the top and about 5 mins. to ride back down. but it may take awhile to acctualy get on the tram, but it is worth the wait. Pros: inexpensive, historic, good parking Cons: crowded(weekends) more

I am a native St. Louisan and have loved this city since day 1 !! I finally was able to go up into the arch at the age of 26 ( I am afraid of heights) and Absolutely loved the view!) Now I am soon to move to another city -due to a job change for my fiance- and I know that the image of the ARCH is one that I will always have with me when I think of my hometown! Check out the museum at the base of the arch too- it is fantastic, full of the stories of Lewis and Clark! Pros: views Cons: hours, crowded more

Everyone should visit at least once 7/23/2002

Visiting the Arch is something everybody should do at least once. The trip to the top is kind of overrated, but again, should be done at least once just to say you did it. I have visited several times and am a novice but avid photograhper and find taking pictures of the Arch from different angles and distances fun. The hour-long river cruise you can take from the base of the arch is worth it for some great photos of the Arch and city of St. Louis. Pros: Cheap Parking, Good Pictures, Historical Cons: Crowded more

The arch had a great view, it was a great family experince, and was something I would do again. Pros: View, experince, information Cons: sometimes crowed, price more

What a fantastic view from the top of the Arch and a thrill getting there. more

Can't Miss 6/30/2002

This was the first stop when I moved to St. Louis. If nothing else, you have to go to the top for the view, but there is so much more down below. Watch the video on how it was built, check out the museum. Great for families. Even if you're afraid of heights, don't pass up the opportunity, you can stay toward the middle when you reach the top, but it's an experience you have to try. more

Excellent! 6/3/2002

great way to spend an afternoon. excellent view from the top of the arch... there's also a great lewis and clark museum in the building as well as several theaters running historical films. Price is reasonable! more

Only in St. Louis 5/15/2002

This place is, of course, the symbol of St. Louis. And rightly so. No other place in the world can claim a structure quite like this. The architectural accomplishment this steel-skinned structure represents is stunning. Definitely catch the ""making of"" documentary in the museum below, then make your way to the top. What a thrill! Pros: Totally unique, Best view more
