Garlic Jim's Famous Gourmet Pizza

May I rate this and its WA corporate, as 10 stars BELOW zero? Having just moved back to WA, and looking forward to trying places new to me, I visited this location about 6 weeks ago. The person taking my order, was extremely rude, would not answer any simple questions, and the staff seemed to be unprofessional also. * I did not receive the extra cheese as I ordered. * The pizza tasted plain and blah, not gourmet in any sense of the word. * The crust was bland and burnt. * I left very hungry, though I ate most of the pizza. So I contacted the corporate, through their website, and gave proof of my receipt, and politely asked for a refund. Eventually they emailed back, stating that these are owned by franchises and they could not give a refund, but would be most happy to send me a coupon for a free pizza. They did not say that they would contact the store to correct the problem. The coupon never arrived, though I had given my address, obviously. So, I sent another email a week or so later, yet no response. I called them and the man in charge, (again, at their WA corporate office), said he would call me back. Instead he emailed, to me, having found my emails, saying I had not given them my address, blaming me. I kindly wrote back saying that I had given it to them, as well as forwarding the email I sent of two weeks earlier. I have yet to receive a coupon for the hideous experience, and doubtless, never will. Later, I learned from someone else, that they had had a bad experience at this store also. In Bellevue, most businesses are very reputable and ethical. I suppose Garlic Jims, will end up like those who treated customer service poorly. more

I ordered from the Bellevue location and I got the Hercules, which is an all-meat pizza -- and I loved it! They really have some unique toppings and the crust if better than most of the sit-down pizza places in town. I also found that the cheese is 100% whole milk mozzarella, which is something none of the delivert places offer. They got the pizza delivered to us in less than 40 minutes and the pizza was still warm. Obviously, I strongly recommend these guys. more

We tried this place twice soon after they opened for business and were really disappointed. The first time we tried them, our pizza came a good 1/2 hour after they'd said it would arrive and when I called to check on the status before it got here, I didn't even get so much as a "sorry". I asked for some kind of a discount and the person on the phone said only a manager could do that. I then asked for a manager and was put on hold. The person I was originally talking to got back on the line and said the pizza would be free. That's the kind of good-will I was looking for, but I don't think I should've had to ask for it. Really, an apology and a small discount would’ve been enough. Since that was the first week they’d opened, I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and a few weeks later I tried them again. The pizza arrived when they said it would but I really wasn't all that impressed with the quality either time. They call it "gourmet" but it's no Pagliacci's. Since there isn't a Pagliacci's in Renton, when I want something close to gourmet, I call Amante's (see my other review). more

This place is wonderful. THe service was superb and the food was excellent. It was quick, but very "gormet" as well. They are also a very good deal . Like Papa Murphey's only better. I loved the pizza and the employees were wuich, knowlageanle and good with making the pizza's. I was satisfied. more

I love the pungent taste of garlic in ethnic foods and cook with garlic often. I was shocked when there was virtually no garlic flavor in either of the two pizzas (the Ultimate and Hawaiian) I ordered from this place touting garlic in its name. It is pricey and the crust is thick and doughy. I won’t be back. more

First off, I'm a huge fan of anything garlic, so I figured this place would be right up my ally. And for the most part, it was. Their crust is very tasty and thick, but not too the point where one piece will fill you up. Not everything on the menu is full of garlic, so if you want something non-garlic, there are options for you. But for garlic lovers, there are many options to fill your need for bad breath. The price is a little high, but i think it is worth it and is very good pizza. more

I personally was not impressed with their gourmet garlic pizza, but, like I have said in my other reviews, I am a picky pizza eater. Their garlic bread is ok, but by the time we got to the store and then back to my house the pizza and bread had cooled off quite a bit, which jaded the taste. I would not go there again. It was hardly worth the amount we paid just to figure out that I don't want to eat there anymore. more
