just like i said. games, games, and more games. its a two story place with all kinds of games. old fashion to what the world???i love the fact that you get a card with so much on it and not a pocket full of coin. but that can be bad . cause the atm is right outside the door.upstairs is a restaurant and a small snack bar downstairs. more

Gameworks is an AWESOME place for everyone! 10/14/2005

Gameworks is a really fun place to go for family, for teenagers, as a group of friends, to hold an event, as a couple out on a date, or even by yourself looking for some fun and possibly meeting someone in the after hours. This 2-floor location features an arcade with a great selection and diversity in games, a resturant, and a bar. It is located in just about the center of the Valley at the Arizona Mills Mall which not only has great stores to shop at but Harkins Theatres 24, IMAZ theatre as well as a food court. The Aracade is laid out on both floors of Gameworks. The bottom floor has the redemption games and the prize counter which has amazing prices to be won everything from candy, small kid toys/bracelets, etc, to game boys, playstations, dvd's. There are also the ride games that move you straight up and down two floors as you battle up to 4 friends. These game rides are definitly a must try! The bottom floor also has from time to time the bull ride, or motion rides. There is the pit area where the car racing rides are lcoated, a shooting area where all the shooting games are located. and a game that is motion detected to make you move your character around! The Dance Dance Revolution game is located at the mall entrance and has a black light feature. While the prices for games are on the higher end the atmosphere that you are playing them in is worth the money that you pay to play. Who wouldn't want to be in an ongoing never ending night-life atmosphere of fun and games? The upper floor is where the resturant and bar are located as well as a large screened Tekken game, the retro oldies games such as pac-man, donkey kong, and the 10 person car racing game that features you racing against other players and announcer and television coverage! Upstairs there is also a comfy lounging room set aside for those 21 and older to lounge in, it's a bit more quiet in that room so that more in depth conversations can take place and there are large windows so that you still get the feel of a night club. While the resturant is a bit on the pricey side for the quality of the food, it allows you to stay in the night-life atmosphere that Gameworks has all-day long. The bar has two pool tables and has large windows set above the pit area to oversee the fun. All of Gameworks is extremely dimmed by light and there is constant stream of music being played accompanied by music videos. Gameworks has a ladies night feature where Ladies come and play for a time period cheaper than on other nights. There is also a curfew age limit after certain hours so that the late evenings can be curtailed towards the older crowd. I would recommend that families come during the day time and up into the early evening, as after 10pm the age limit is 18 and up. Tempe is a University town and this place is one of the top places to hang out on and have some fun in the evenings on the weekends. more

fun time 8/29/2005

My husband loves going here for a night out. They have two different levels and tons of games to play. From old time 80's games to virtual reality games, they have it all. There is a restaurant on the upper level that has okay food. We don't really go for the food, we go for the games. You could blow a whole paycheck if you stay for a long time. The parking is easy since it in a mall. But it can get really hard to park at christmas time. more

A fun place with many games for entertainment 8/20/2005

I've been to Gameworks in Minneapolis, but I must say that the one here in Tempe is so much better. There are a lot more games and more variety. There is also food and drinks. Plus it is in a great location at Arizona Mills Mall so that you can also see a movie or go shopping while you are there! more

HUGE arcade! 8/20/2005

This is a HUGE arcade! Where the heck was a place like this when I was a kid?!?! There are two levels to this place and they have tons of different games. The latest and greatest, and the old school variety. I found my type of games (the old school early 80's type) tucked away in a corner upstairs without a big crowd around them, so I was able to enjoy myself without people bothering me. It was funny to see people my age upstairs with the old games, and all the youngsters going wild on the new games that are just way too complicated for old folks like me. A great place to bring a young boy. He will love you for bringing him here! more

Loads of fun! 7/7/2005

This place is an indoor arcade with lots of virtual reality games, racing games, and kiddie games. THey also have a club and restaraunt upstairs. This place is a lot of fun because there is SO much to do. The games are fun but pretty pricey and the staff usually only assists you with the rides and at the front enterance. THe food upstairs is pretty good and the prices are reasonable. They close upstairs to adults only after a certain time. This is part of Arizona Mills mall so of course there is always parking. more
