Between Dave and Buster's and Gameworks, Gameworks takes the cake. The games are WAY better. There are two floors worth of various video games, pinball machines, pool tables, sport games, air hockey, and various other interactive games. There are two bars, one on each floor, and a restaurant. The best feature about GameWorks is unlimited play on Thursdays from 9pm to 1am for only $10. Also, vodka drinks (including mixed drinks like vodka cranberries) are $2, and they don't skimp on the booze. It can be a little crowded on Thursdays, but it's not really that bad. My friends and I go every Thursday to take advantage of this awesome deal! Pros: Cool games, $10 unlimited play, $2 vodka drinks Cons: Short wait 4 some gms more

Fun Games, the rest is OK 7/7/2005

I don't drink, so going to a bar that's strictly a bar is a pretty boring prospect. Gameworks, as I understand it, becomes 21 and up after a certain hour (9 or 10?) and of course is filled with video games. They have some of my favorites, including lots of first person shooters and Dance Dance Revolution. There is also a balloon ride where you sit in a little seat that goes up and down, up to about 20 feet in the air. If you have a favorite game, you may want to call ahead (last time I arrived I was disappointed to find the balloon game was under maintenance.) One con, the place is LOUD, and while it seems like it should be a great first date place, you won't be able to hear your date (or yourself think.) Pros: Game variety, Not just teens Cons: LOUD more

Fun Night Out 12/17/2002

A great place to go that's not in the city. I have yet to eat there, but the drinks and gaming are reason enough to go. While it may not be as good as Dave and Busters, it doesn't disappoint. Drinks are a little on the expensive end but some are well worth it. Try the Manhattan Freefall for a nice buzz. Spend the $20 for the 100 point card... if you are with friends it will last the whole night - I have yet to use all the credit in one visit. Make sure to check out the air hockey table, a lot of fun and the Pool Bar is probably the best place to get drinks. Pros: Arcade for adults!, Specialty Drinks, Air Hockey Cons: battle of band nights more

This place is fun fun fun! First of all, I'd have to say, its not as good as DisneyQuest was, but since their departure from downtown, GameWorks is a great alternative in Schaumburg. If you have a group of friends, and are willing to take the drive over to the burbs, its located right by Woodfield Mall, and it's a great place to have fun. They have lots of shooters, classics, and new games, plus, a few BIG games that are fun. For $20 you get a card with 100 points, which should last about 2 hours of gaming enjoyment. Check it out, I highly recommend it. P.S. try to go on a weekday, cuz on the weekends, it gets pretty packed. Pros: Good parking Cons: a bit crowded on Sat. more
