I hadn't been to Houston in over 10 years so I was told that the galleria is the place you must go to! It was a dream! I wish I had money when I went! I love the juicy store there...

Going to the Galleria is like running the gauntlet.. 3/7/2012

My husband and I used to LOVE the Galleria. It was our place to shop and eat on the weekends but all that has changed! I avoid the place like the plague due to the VERY aggressive sales people that run the small kiosks selling make-up, soaps and facial creams. When we walk by the are so pushy with samples, grabbing our arm, making nasty remarks when we ignore them. I feel like I am a Moroccan bazaar instead of Houston, Texas. Why the people that management the Galleria allow these pushy kiosk people to harass and besiege shoppers in beyond me. Once when none of the soap seller followed me into a shoe store on the lower level I decided I had had enough! I shop online now. Who needs the hassle!! more

galleria mall 3/16/2011

So i went to this mall the other day and yeah the stores are nice, it's just the type of folks who are shopping and working at the mall. There was nothing but porch monkeys ""shopping"" or should I just say meandering around being annoying and getting in the way of people who are actually trying to shop, and they have to hang out in like groups of 5 or more, they take up all the walking room, they complain about everything, and they are so loud and annoying. And my favorite store at the mall has nothing but porch monkeys working there. It freakin sucks! more

Love the place 1/13/2009

I am new to town and LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! But I do agree with the others, Chanel is run by harpies! I have already reported those rude retail harpies to their corperate headquarters. more

Awful customer service in Chanel 1/7/2009

I took a necklace to them to have it repaired and it came back (shipped to me) damaged and the repair was awful. When I spoke to them regarding this they told me it was my fault and I must have done it but there was no way they did this. The person I was speaking with had not even seen the necklace so I'm not sure how she knew they did not do this or what condition the necklace was in to begin with. I was told that I did not spend a ""certain amount"" in the store and that I must have damanged it myself and I am now blaming them. I was hung up on a manager. When asked to speak to someone higher I was told that there was no one I could speak with and that this ""manager"" had the final say. It took many days for someone to return my call and it was the director of the store and she was even ruder then the one before her. I had to go to corporate to get it resolved. I will never set foot in that store again! Very rude sales clerks. Pros: Huge selection.....anything you can imagine. Cons: Parking and always crowded! more

Chanel Store - Rude Service & Bad Store Policies 12/1/2008

I visited the Chanel store after being referred by the Chanel counter in Neiman Marcus since they were out of my shade of makeup. Not only with the need for the makeup, but I needed a moisturizer as well. I asked a sales girl and she advised I use a specific moisturizer that was $105.00 (1.7 oz), but that they had a holiday gift piece with that specific lotion (smaller size, 1.0 oz) for $170.00. I was not aware that the gift was mainly the smaller sized lotion for much more, so I returned it the very next day, so as not to be jipped. It was my surprise that it is Chanel's policy to not return the same form of payment you make to them. SO BEWARE! You either must wait 2-3 weeks for a check in the mail or gift card. If I would of known this I would of paid by credit card or debit card, but was not aware of this policy. I am only writing this to inform others of the bizarre practice. I am now stuck with a $200 gift card to a store I never want to visit again. Pros: All Other Stores EXCEPT the Chanel Store Cons: Chanel Store - Rude Service & Bad Store Policies more

Living in a fantasy! 9/10/2007

I hadn't been to Houston in over 10 years so I was told that the galleria is the place you must go to! It was a dream! I wish I had money when I went! I love the juicy store there- had to bypass the chanel store or I would've been in serious overspending trouble. When I went we didn't stay for long- we didn't even go through half of the mall! it's so huge! go to the galleria just to say you've gone. Pros: juicy!! chanel!! neiman's!! Cons: CROWDED! EVEN ON A SUNDAY not for the claustrophobic more

Great place to shop! 12/3/2006

There are a variety of stores in the galleria. There are stores that are very cheap ($20 for a shirt) and stores that are really expensive like Louis Vuitton and Gucci. There is something for everyone at the Galleria. There is an abundance of food places to dine at and plenty of parking. more

The Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas has it all!!! 11/19/2006

The Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas is awesome. From Versace to Barneys' to Neiman-Marcus...and grab your latte on the way...you'll shop 'til you drop and then you'll still keep shopping. Pros: Clean, Impeccable, Trendy, Diverse Cons: Expensive more

First Time To the Galleria 12/19/2005

This place was so breath taking. I live in wisconsin, and I would go back in a heartbeat. I love the customer service, The people are very helpful. Just a delight to be among everyone. Pros: Good Parking, Customer service more

Great 7/25/2005

This mall is so worth the trip, that I pay the $10.00 to park. I just can't wait for a parking spot. The very instant I get into this mall, I feel like I'm in New York City again. I am so captivated with Westheimer and the Galleria its not even funny. All the top name designers have their stores here, and the mall even has a hotel. If you are visiting Houston, this would have to be my top recommendation for you to visit. Its essential. Cons: Pricey more

A Houston Shopper's Paradise 5/13/2004

If you love to shop, then you are going to love TheGalleria. They have a mall of shops that's too many to count, and all the department stores are wonderful. I especially love Foley's. Foley's is well known for their great deals such as their Red Apple Sale. I also love to shop at the Gap. The Galleria even has a store that carries nothing but black and white clothing. It's also really cool to shop here and meet people. The area around theGalleria is so diverse, and I love that. Parking isn't a big problem, you just have to have patience. The restaurants are terrific, try the Cheesecake Factory...it's awesome, but don't go on peak hours. The wait is as long as 2 hours. Yikes! The food court has great choices of things to eat. more

Best of the best. 3/22/2004

I was down in Houston for the Super Bowl and I had to return to the Galleria. No other shopping center compares. An absolute 10+. I've been to them all and this is 'the best', period. Architecturally beautiful too. Pros: stores, stores, stores more

Great stores, crazy crowds 3/19/2004

The Galleria is by far the best shopping center in the greater Houston area. There are numerous stores ranging from upscale to common and the mall is beautiful. You should beware that parking is almost always a problem and that the mall gets extremely crowded, if you prepare yourself for those obstacles you'll enjoy your day at the Galleria much more! Trying parking across the street in one of the strip malls and crossing Westheimer to save some headache! more

The Best Upscale Shopping Mall In the US 3/12/2004

Although the fifth largest mall in the US, the Houston Galleria is by far the largest upscale shopping mall. The Houston Galleria is a shopper's dream with stores such as: Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Gianni Versace, Luca Luca, Max Mara, Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Versus, St. John, Adrienne Vittadini, Jimmy Choo, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Cartier, Tiffany and Co., Ralph Lauren, BCBG, Betsey Johnson, Emporio Armani, and Burberry. If you're not into high end shopping, stores like Armani Exchange, French Connection, and Bebe don the corridors of this mall. Comparing the Houston Galleria to the Mall of America is doing it a great injustice. It's like comparing TJ Maxx to Neiman Marcus...there's just no comparison. If you're in houston, you must visit this world class mall! There's a reason why 18 million visitors come to the Houston Galleria each year. Pros: Variety of shops Cons: , expensive more

ABSOLUTE SHOPPERS DREAM 7/24/2003

Tiffany and CO., Nordstrams, Gucchi, Macy's, Saks, and Armani just to name a few. If you love to shop then you must go here. Second only to Mall of America. The only thing missing is a roller coaster. They have so many places to eat. the shops keep going and going. Better bring money if you bring your wife. Parking is plentiful and free. It is crowded but what mall isn't. Pros: SHOP CHOICE, FOOD CHOICE Cons: Crowded more

shopping at its best 3/20/2003

While visiting Houston from Seattle my first stop was to the world famous Galleria. It was by far the most beautiful and complete shopping mall I have ever seen. I've been to many across the U.S. including South Coast Plaza, Tysons Corner Center, Short Hills, Lennox Square, King of Prussia, Rodeo Drive, The Shops at Bal Harbour, Caesars Palace and nothing comes close. Truely a 'Texas Masterpiece' and one of the great shopping destinations of the world. Pros: great stores, architecture, great stores more

SHOPPING WONDERLAND 2/8/2003

THE GALLERIA IS AN EXTRAORDNARY PLACE TO VISIT. THE STORES, RESTARAUNTS, AND ATMOSPHERE MAKE IT WELL WORTH THE TRIP. Pros: GOOD VARIETY, GREAT FOOD Cons: CROWDED more

Panache above the (YAWN!) Suburban Malls 12/8/2002

As one with an aversion to malls, I find the Galleria a refreshing change from the boring blandness of suburban malls. Most AmeriMalls -- targeted at ""minivan Moms"" and teenage Mall-Rats -- are typically of the same soullessness and tastlessness that defines suburban America (YAWN!). If JCPenney, Kohl's, and WalMart are your idea of a shopping experience -- the Galleria is NOT for you. The Galleria offers a bounty of unique and quality items. The anchor stores (Macy's, Neiman-Marcus, Saks and Lord&Taylor) corral the best variety of quality goods and services to be had in Texas. The mall is constantly in flux -- new stores, renovation, decoration. Every visit is a new adventure. The addition of Nordstrom and Foley's in 2003 will broaden the appeal. The Galleria has survived and thrived the roller-coaster of retail trends for over three decades and will continue as one of America's premier retail emporiums. Pros: Quality, Uniqueness, Panache Cons: Holiday Traffic more

Fun, Fun, Fun 11/13/2002
