I just left a voice message on Debbie Farrington's cell phone to inform her that she needs to remove this very incorrect, and dishonest information about our business as she was the one trying to scam us. I called the Lexus dealer and spoke to the service manager to be sure of the facts. Anyone wanting to know the correct issue and how she was trying to scam us out of some money I will gladly give you the information, as she might be trying to scam you also. \r I requested her to remove this post in the next 48 hours from this moment 1:00 pm on 4-4--2013 or we will start a litigation for damages of lost revenue for each day it is on the site, including attorney fees. more

Rosie, How can I be trying to scam you? Really? I contacted your business multiple times about these spark plugs.I was told over the phone I was wrong without even anyone looking at the plugs. Then you Rosie wanted me meet you down at the Lexus dealer, but only on your time and at your convienence. You guys were defensive right off the bat. I would be happy to post a photo of them and let the readers decide. All I know is I had the Lexus dealer, and five other mechanics tell me the same thing. That those spark plugs were not changed two months ago. They look like they had at least 60K miles on them. So for 110.00 plus change, you could have adopted the policy the customer is always right, but you chose to go another route. Now look at where it has got you? Remember, word of mouth is the best advertisement. I didn't see anywhere on here that you can only post positive statements about this company. If I am not mistaken freedom of speech is one of our rights, so good luck with that attorney thing. Makes you look pretty stupid. Let's see 110.00 vs 1000.00's. It wasn't even about the money, it was the dishonesty and the lack of your company taking any kind of responsibility. The plugs should not have been stained with oil and grime if they were only two months old. We couldn't even clean them off. I had to go with the majority on this, 5 to 1, said they were older than 2 months. So my post still stands. Maybe you should post on here that nobody can leave their negative experience with your company or they will be threatened to be sued. Sued for what I have no idea. more

Who likes any car repair? But I'm so happy that I found a place that knows what they are doing. I 'm car sharp myself so I know when I can trust a shop, and I want it done correct, not cheap and have more problems later. Like I said I'm happy. I dont care about fancy facilities, I want to know they can do the job. Taking my mom there soon. more

This place has been ran this way for many years, they will quote low and then when you go pick it up, bang inflated to around a 1/3 of the cost more and when questioned about the cost they replied, well we used quality parts and if you want us to put cheaper parts in then.... really stopped using this rip off practice years ago. My husband and I have had our cars in for both small (e.g., front floor heater vent wasn't putting out heat) and large (e.g., major transmission work) repair jobs at G&L. The service has always been efficient and friendly. The work has always been accomplished in a timely manner and they are always on top of things if I simply drop by for a quick fix on something small (e.g., small inside door panel needed gluing in place). I have had instances where the final price was over the amount I was told over the phone, however, they have always substantiated the difference. Not only did they quote me a low price and then jack the price when I came to pick-up my vehicle, but they did the same to my 77 year old mother who lives on a small amount each month. They quoted me $600 and when I went to get the car it was over $900. My husband was furious. Then my mother took her car in and they charged her $6000 to do some minor repairs! My husband said my mom could have bought a whole new rebuilt engine for that price, along with a new transmittion. Her car is now leaking tranny fluid and doesn't have any money to repair it. I am an elderly person and was having trouble with my car it wanted to die on me at a stop I just happen by this place and was treated with the upmost respect. Not only did they fix my problem and they able to do it while I waited for it. Then I expected the bill to be real high but It seems one of my vacume hoses needed to be replaced. I have been a customer of G & L Auto Repair for a couple years. Prior to finding G & L, I went to dealerships and paid exorbitant amounts of money and was "jerked" around in the process. Recently, G & L gave me a phone quote based on "my best guess" at what I thought the problem was with my daughter's used car. After the diagnostic evaluation, I received a straightforward description of the problem, which was more extensive than I could have anticipated. They could have easily fixed what I "thought" the problem was, which often happens at dealerships. Instead, they saved me money by getting at the root of the problem while eliminating return trips to the shop, which would have been very expensive. I could not agree more with the previous reviewer: I have had the exact same experience there. They definitely will give you a cheap quote over the phone but then when the bill comes, get ready for a surprise - it will be nowhere near what they suckered you in with. They are indeed very friendly and maybe that's how they manage to overcharge people without getting their customers mad enough to find another shop. They will not even discuss the overcharge - they just offer some vague excuse about how it took "longer than they expected." I would not recommend this shop to anyone: they are deceiving and the world has enough dishonest repair shops - I will never go back there. I have a 1993 Chevy Bereta that I bought at an estate sale. It started and drove fine for about 45 minutes and then died at a light. It started up every time but when I put it in drive or reverse, it died. I called several places,,,, who do you trust???,,,, they all said bring it in for a diagnostic etc. I called G and L and the man I spoke with told me right away what the issue was. He called me back an hour later after doing a rescue of an elderly woman in a stalled car and gave me a price. I took my car in and they fixed it. These guys know what they are doing. Cheap labor rates but they make up for it with the time they charge. Estimates arent worth the paper they are written on and when you confront them they tell you to leave. Go pay the more expensive shop and it will cost you less on the final bill. Pros: nice receptionist lady Cons: mechanic thinks hes "the one" . Place looks like a wrecking yard, showing them the exact problem doesnt help your labor times more
