Came here for lunch w/ reservation. They ran out of lots of side dishes that we wanted to order like rice. I was one of the few people that got the last bits of rice and it was dry and hard. The food is excellent! The service is fair to good. The atmosphere, however, is not conducive to conversation. Excellent service combined with food that makes your mouth water, this resturant serves some of the best food that I have had in Houston in it's price range. I'm a Louisiana native and also have had plenty of authentic Carribbean food all over the country. This food stands toe to toe with the best. I read a previous review...if you don't like this food...don't blame the chef, blame your tastebuds. Carribean/Southern food isn't for everyone but if it is for you, you will love Fusion Cafe. Shocked at the lousy service 11/3/2002

After having read so many good things about Fusion Cafe I decided to take some friends for dinner there to celebrate one of the diner's birthdays. It was a huge disappointment. I cannot recall ever having had such dismal service. Also, I wouldn't categorize the food as anything more than average. Such a pity because Fusion Cafe could be so much more. The boast is that their fried chicken is the best. Popeye's chicken puts theirs to shame. Pros: Good Location, Great prices Cons: Abyssmal service, Loud and obtrusive more

Looks nice on the oustide, but do not be fooled. The food is horrible, and the service is not worth mentioning. I've ate at better places in the village. I was so dissapointed! more

Looks Better than it Tastes 8/10/2002

This was my first and last visit. Granted, the service was good, but it sure does not make up for the food. The food was abnormally too spicy and salty, overall the meal was simply a waste of money and time. more
