This pawn shop is AWESOME !!! Don t listen to the other reviews. Their claims are ridiculous. EZ Pawn probably only offered that guy $200 for his guns. And for that other guy. It is absurd to think that they would even consider keeping his money. I have been dealing with these guys for the last 12 years, and I would not even consider dealing with any of those large corporate leaching pawn shops. If you want the best service, and finest staff you have ever met, you should go visit Tony, and the other young guys and girls that work down there. Make sure to tell them that turtleboy sent you. Best place to go for loans, staff is always friendly and amazing at what they do. Especially Chris and Joe and Mike. And the owner Dan, these guys are always willing to work w anybody anytime no matter what. I always buy items from there. And when I need to pawn, I always know my items are safe. Worst pawn shop I have ever been to. I have been their several times over the past couple years. Every time with a new attitude and I'm always polite. Everything is way over priced and the owner or guy who runs it is always out to take advantage of people. I've heard him tell people that bring in items he only sells for so much then gives them half that then marks item for more then new. Just tired of trying to do business with them. Don't know how he stays in business. more

bad reviews 8/1/2012

My husband and I went to SB for a diamond ring for our anniversary and we were disappointed. I have heard nothing but great reviews about this place so I was expecting great service! Ellen the sales woman acted like she was doing us a favor showing us rings. She invited us into her office to describe exactly what we wanted and we were willing to spend $6-8,000 for a ring. She told us that she would get back to us and we have NEVER heard from her again. We called her several times and left messages for her to no avail. We will be taking our business else where if this is how they treat their customers. more

I dont know I just have a bad feeling about this place and how they treated my property as their own. I cant 100 percent prove anything but I know Im not crazy and I know the condition of my stuff when I dropped it off. more

fry road pawn has been in business since 2003. from 1994 until 2003 it was owned by wally harris the man that built 7 stores and was respected to the fulliest until he was murdered and the person that put together the murder worked at fry road after it was sold. so people need to get there facts straight when a business has the sign needs help every week what does that tell you and the owner is never there one died of cancer and his brother never goes i there so write true reviews more

I Love Fry Rd. Pawn!!!!! 12/13/2010

I have been going to Fry Rd. Pawn for over 10 years now. Ever since I started going there, the staff has always been fair and knowledgable. In times when I really needed their help, they have done everything possible to give me the best loan possible for my items. I have tried other pawn shops but have never gotten the level of customer satisfaction that these guys give me (owner or no owner). They also have fair prices on merchandise they are selling. The staff there has always been eager to negotiate with me so that both sides get a fair shake. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone who finds themselves in a situation that would illicit the need for their services. more

DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME 2/4/2010

I can't imagine why this place is even still in business.. Except there is little choice in Katy. Do yourself a favor and drive to pawn one on Westheimer. It's only and extra 10 miles, and you will get actual customer service, and reasonable bargains, not to mention they TRIPPLED wht fry road pawn offered on my engagement ring..... Funny thig is I bought it from fry road pawn for 500.00 and took it in for a loan only to get 40.00... This place is the poorest excuse for a business I have ever seen! more

Not recommended 11/6/2009

I didn't have a good feeling when I walked in...the three "kids" at the counter didn't know anything about coins - the guy passed on my $20 1908 No Motto Double Eagle gold coin because it didn't look exactly like the fuzzy picture that he was using for reference. Different coin. And, he wanted to open the case that PCGS had sealed the coin into to protect it and preserve the rating. Nah, I won't be going back...be suspicious of a shop with no owner present. more

What Liars! 5/2/2009

There are two sterling reviews on this pawn shop that I think were written by the employees or owners themselves. The review I wrote last month (4/2008) about how they "lost" my jewelry when I came to pick it up (after paying six months of extensions and the balance) - well, that has mysteriously disappeared. How is that possible?\r \r The employees didn't seem too concerned about my problem. Steer clear. more

Good selection/variety of items 4/4/2006

This pawn shop has everything and anything you're looking for. I personally got my watch battery changed here and since it was just five dollars, after changing the battery for me, the employee said I could keep the battery for free! The staff is very courteous and they're always available to answer your questions. PROS: Good selection CONS: more

The employees at this location are very friendly and helpful. Although this store is relatively small, there is a good variety of items inside the store; all the items are well organized so the item you're looking for is easy to find.
