Best

To be honest I can't really compare this place to any other Italian restaurant in Santa Monica because I don't even want to try the others. This place has such great food, friend...

Worst

Great Lunch Spot 6/5/2006

Wide selection of pasta dishes, but also great soup/salad combos perfect for a lunch-time bite. Portions are large! Pros: Salad Selections, Healthy Soups, Great Service more

Big Portions Great Tastes Absolute Value 1/14/2006

This is the best place to go for a big tastey meal. I challenge ANYONE to try and make the equivalent meal for two in their own home, with the same tastey ingredients for the same LOW co$t!! My GF is vegetarian and loves the salads, and I cannot go past the Sausage Lasagne with Pink sauce... or get sometimes i get some pasta and have the chef throw in meaty fresh steak tips! You just tell them what you like, and how you like it! voila! Dont forget the Creme Brulee... PS. get there early to avoid the wait! or get it 'to go'... Pros: food, service, price Cons: gets BUSY!!! more

Comfortable Italian Food 11/13/2005

A great local corner Italian restaurant with quality food, service, and prices. The restaurant is casual and has a comfortable ambience. The pasta dishes are nicely prepared and the chicken marsala is really tasty. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual date or informal dinner. Pros: food, service, price Cons: parking more

great value for dinner! 9/17/2005

We walked in as a group of 6 at 7pm on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. They charge a $1.50 per person corkage fee ( which is a great value when you're dining as a group ). They brought us bread immediately, and the waitstaff was amazing. Our salads came out fast, followed by our appetizer and shortly thereafter ( perhaps too fast ) came our entrees, everything was delicious though. We were there celebrating a birthday and after we had finished our meals our waiter brought out 3 complimentary desserts! The banana creme pie was outstanding. All in all I highly recommend this place, def a great spot for groups, maybe not so much for a date unless you're just looking for a tasty, inexpensive meal....... Pros: make-your-own-pasta, $1.50 corkage fee, great service Cons: food came too fast, decor could be better more

Carbo Load Here 2/14/2005

This is one of my favorite, easy, fresh italian places in Santa Monica. The pasta is always filling and the portions are huge so if you're training for a race or just plain hungry then this place will suit you fine. The salads (even the small) are huge and can easily serve 2 or 3 people. I usually order the Atomic Pasta with Chicken -- spicy but good. Leave some room for dessert because the lemon squares are excellent -- and this is coming from someone who usually doesn't even consider a dessert if it doesn't have chocolate in it. more

quite yummy 9/9/2004

the food is great, especially the ravioli. avoid peak times, it is super loud inside and the wait can be long. Pros: good food Cons: , crowded at times more

THE BEST PASTA PLACE! 3/19/2004

It's the best pasta ever! the place is not fancy but if you want to eat good food and not to spend too much money, this is the place. Order gnocchis and the lobster ravioli. They don't accept reservations so try to get there early if you are going in a weekend, otherwise you will have to wait around 45 minuts, but it's worth it! more

Perfect Little Italian Cafe 12/20/2003

This spot is my favoite place for a nice sit down lunch after a busy morning at work. It's comfort food at it's best. You haven't had a salad until you've had their Green and Gorgonzola salad. It's a meal in itself with the hot bread, a little E.V.O.O. and you're good to go. Pros: Great Prices, Good Food Cons: Slow Service at Times more

Not Going Back 5/11/2003

I had a awful experience at this place. I went one evening and had a hard time with nearby parking and a very long wait-time. At other places, even the wait-time can be fun with the atmosphere outside. Not here. When I finally got in, it was crowded and the service was horrible. All in all, the wait-time, bad service, so-so food, and mediocre ambience does not warrant another visit. Cons: Long Wait-Time, Bad Serice, Parking more

delicioso!!! 1/31/2003

The chicken fettuccine alfredo is delicious!! and the service is very friendly :o) more

somewhat inconsistent 12/12/2002

i've eaten here on numerous occassions and find that the food is rather inconsistent...sometimes it's really great and sometimes (when it's super crowded), the pasta looks and tastes thrown together. the service is somewhat inconsistent as well... it's also very loud in the restaurant. more

Specials....yum! 10/23/2002

Cuisine is delicious, the specials are tops! Desserts, save room. The service is average almost teetering on below average. Ambience is nice....try not to sit near the front of the restaurant. Lot's of families so sometimes you're surrounded by small children. I can't use my Amex card so I'm not sure why they're advertising Amex as a form of payment. Go for the food....try the black & white pasta! Pros: yummy specials, different, close to home Cons: parking questionable, small children, questionable service more

poor service 10/21/2002

did not like the food nor the service..... would prefer to eat in the west side more

Great Food Great Value 10/8/2002

No need to look any further for good italian food in the soutbay. Great food, great service, great atmostphere. I like the low corkage fee so you can enjoy your own wine. more

Value and Freshness 9/12/2002

Fritto Misto is a fabulous value for the money. The food is fresh, the pasta just this side of al dente, and the service is friendly and skilled at negotiating the tight fits between tables. Bringing your own wine helps further your dollar value. more

Italian that compares! 9/8/2002

What a great local place! A gem for us in Hermosa. Joe Carrillo has it going on at Fritto Misto. He's a local and really takes care of every patron like a local. Tell him you saw the excellent ratings on CitySearch.com and he'll show some favoritism. Pros: Service, Value Cons: Parking more

Good and Reasonable 8/28/2002

I remember stuffing myself here often during college days. Bring your own medium grade wines (save the top wines for else where) and you're good to go. Pastas are good. And I like their Banana Cream Pie. more

Excellent Italian in Hermosa 8/16/2002

I've only been once, but Fritto Misto is already among my favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is perfect... a little dim, relaxed, not too dressy but not overly casual. Friendly service, a good mix of traditional pastas (build your own) with some more innovative dishes (a cilantro-based chicken ravioli is particularly tasty), and the namesake appetizer: a plate of deep-fried vegetables and seafood. To borrow a word from Will Ferrell's James Lipton impersonation, it's scrumtrillescent. more

The Best in Town 8/8/2002

This is a great place for lunch or dinner. The decor isn't eye-catching, but it need not be. I love ceasar salad and they have one of the BEST! The bread is the most delicious I've had yet and if you get any appetizers, make it the Fried Pillows. The service is great. One of the waiters still greets me by name each time I come in and has a diet coke with lemon on the way if I come in for lunch. Its worth it! Pros: Yummy Yummy more

Everything you want in a restuarant 7/21/2002

I LOVE this place! Great food, very reasonable prices, really good wine much cheaper than you would see at another restuarant, casual but classy atmosphere, and something that is important to me: the management are quality people who care about the customers. (and no I don't work for this restaurant, I just love everything about it.) more
