The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate. They take the time to educate the pet owner, present the available options and work with the client on an acceptable treatment plan. They are excellent clinicians and diagnosticians. Having said all this, I will not be returning to McKenzie Animal Hospital. When my dog was diagnosed with a chronic medical condition recently I was told there were no alternatives to bringing her in several times a week for the rest of her life for routine blood work, which was simply unaffordable for me. In doing my own Internet research I discovered I could perform the tests myself at home at literally a fraction of what the vet charged, and that discovery has caused me to feel betrayed by and distrustful of this particular clinic. In my distress over my dog's illness and my limited financial resources I had been encouraged to consider euthanasia rather than seek help elsewhere, and I have to think I'm not the only one this has happened to. I have been a client at McKenzie Animal Hospital for five years. Their staff is top notch and they really know their stuff. They explain everything and are very careful. They were extremely compassionate when my mom had to put her dog to sleep. Their prices might be a little higher than other places but their expertise is unmatched. more

My dogs have been going here for 9 yrs. Great place! They treat your pets like family, and are extremely competent. I wouldn't take them anywhere else. Their prices can be a little on the high side, but it's the price you pay for their knowledge. As a whole they are up on some of the newest techniques, and will be totally honest with you. They don't push you into doing something you aren't comfortable with, nor have the money for. more

This is a well run office with competent vets. The location is convenient to residents in East Springfield. This place has been in business for a long time. The prices are about average. more
