Fricks Store 7/7/2009

I took my boat here to get the oil changed and the oil in the sterndrive changed and asked that they check it over to see if I needed anything else done. After several phone calls and visits to the shop, a month later, I was finally told that the dipstick tube was broken and they had to order the part. Another month went by before I was told that he couldn't get one, so he was going to have to make one. Another month went by before I finally was able to pick it up. During this entire time, I was given a complete by date on at least a dozen occasions, but each time I came by to pick it up, I was put off. Finally, 3 months after I brought it in, I was told it was ready. Imagine my surprise when I was given a bill for almost $1000. I had to wait while they put it back together. The boat had sat under a pecan tree uncovered for most of the time as they did not even bother to cover it back up. I finally got it cleaned up just before I left for vacation. On my return home, I finally got to put it into the water, only to find that it would not start. I also noted oil in the bilge. I took it back over and told them what was going on with it. 3 more times I showed up and was told we'll have it on whatever day. 3 times I showed back up only to be told they had not gotten to it. I was finally told that they would fix the oil leak but that I would have to go somewhere else because my business was not needed. There was another man there that told me he was using the shop to fix his own boat because Fricks had it so long he didn't want to wait on it, so Frick let him use the shop to work on it. I took it home and checked the dipstick tube and found that they had not even tightened it by hand. It was so loose it was barely threaded on. I then looked around where the dipstick tube was and found that they had broken a connector on the wires to the coil. 10 mins I had it ready to go. I would not recommend this business to anyone. They want let me give them a 0 star rating. Pros: None that I am able to determine Cons: Expensive, doesn't stand behind his work, keeps your boat more
