Best

The best part about this bar is I listened to every word the bartender suggested. I looked up and looked around and newspaper prints were everywhere. Very cool. Great location.

bartenders treated me like crap 1/6/2012

I am absolutely fuming after trying to enjoy a beer at this place. The first time I went, the waitress didn't want to give me the time of day. Only after catching her eye to the point that it would be socially awkward for her to avoid me, she grudgingly took my order. I ordered a Guinness. $7 plus a $1.05 mandatory gratuity. I'm all for tipping hard working waitresses and bartenders, but when doing your job by pouring me a beer so apparently puts you in a foul mood, I would just as soon forego the tip. But I assumed maybe they just had their jerk waitress on that night, and decided to try it again a few nights later, which would be tonight. The second time I went, the waitress REALLY didn't want to give me the time of day, preferring to sit on the bar, chat with the drunks and play with her cigarette lighter. Only after catching her eye to the point that it would be socially awkward for her to avoid me, she grudgingly took my order. (I was there on 1/6/12 at 10:30 PM if the manager or owner wants to check the timesheets to determine who this was.) I ordered a Guinness. After firmly demanding to see my ID, as if this was a sort of punishment for taking her away from her pyrophilic priorities, she grabbed a PLASTIC cup and bored me my beer. $7 plus a $1.05 mandatory gratuity. On the additional tip line I wrote ""Ha"", and left a terse note on the back of my receipt, which I placed under my empty cup. Sorry to inconvenience your bartending staff by asking them to pull a lever. Too bad you guys are the only bar in Miami. Oh, wait... more

best bar on the beach 12/6/2007

this is my favorite hangout. the bartenders know you, the regulars are friendly and they have great bar food and my favorite beer which most places don't carry. I only mentioned red hook to 1 bartender 1 time and the next week it was there for me - the first one on them. 1 of the best nights I have had recently was 1 of the karaoke nights a guy tourist got up to sing a totally inappropriate celine dion song and the whole bar belted it out. great jukebox - great fish and chips. great great great. Pros: south beach bar minus the bs Cons: they are only open 7 days a week 12pm to 5am - just not long enough more

Not too bad 5/20/2007

This is a decent getaway from the typical south beach scene. It truly does seem to be the bar where everyone knows each other. Probably the same crowd every day. The food is average as is the beer selection. What really clued me in on what this place was about was when I asked about one of the beers advertised on a huge poster next to the bar. The poster said ""try beers from around the world"" and had about 6 beers from different countries with different prices for each. They didn't carry any of them.... Pros: hmmmm....different...? Cons: Can get crowded, quality more
