Very beautiful place to visit! more

Highly disappointing 3/9/2011

I grew up in Pittsburgh, where I loved going to the Conservatory. It had a fabulous collection of different plants from around the world.\r \r The Columbus one is horribly disappointing to someone who has seen a real conservatory. Columbus has almost no rare plants. It's just a larger version of a good nursery like Oakland Nursery. They have a few large plants that you would not see at a nursery, but otherwise, go to your local garden center, and it's free. more

BEST Winter Get-Away!!! *** 12/25/2010

This haven isn't even a ""one tank trip"" because it's right downtown! Well, it's on the East side of town and admission is very reasonable. There are so many different, beautiful plants to enjoy here set in their 'natural' environments. The gift store has some really unique things and there is a cafe where you can get some food if your stomach is chewing holes through you (it's adequate). But walking around the Conservatory is just heavenly -- it's warm, it's springtime, it's so relaxing and beautiful. It's the perfect get-away right here in town! more

Excellent place ! 12/13/2007

I would not hesitate to recommend Franklin Park Conservatory to out of town vistors. The staff members are always friendly and knowledgeable. I always learn something exciting when I go there. more

Relaxing Beauty 6/21/2006

This is a historical site and changes with the seasons. There is a minimal cost, but parking is free and ample. There is even a cafe and gift shop. There is a wonderful glass exhibit intertwined with the plants and a butterfly exhibit. You will want to go often. more

Beautiful place 12/5/2005

I've been to the Franklin Park Conservatory to view roses with my mother's friend. I really enjoyed the scenary here. I saw a wedding service going on and it seemed very pretty. It is really a nice place to visit to be able to just enjoy nature. more

LOVELY! 11/15/2005

A friend of mine was married here in the greenhouse area and it was lovely. I know they are very popular for weddings and very pricey...they also book very quickly. It is a wonderful treasure to columbus and a great place to stroll the gardens and enjoy plants and butterflies. more

Very pretty 11/15/2005

I was in a wedding of some friends of ours who got married here and we thought it was a very nice place to get married. They have a huge greenhouse room with plants and it has a lot of space. It can get kinda warm in there, bu otherwise it is nice. The gilr who worked there was nice and the outside park area we took pictures in was nice as well. more

Beautiful location 9/2/2005

I have been to the Franklin Park Conservatory for many special events and festivals. The grounds are always impeccibly maintained. The Chihuly exhibit was simply beautiful. The conservatory managed to extend the show due to its popularity, which was a great move. It allowed many people, including myself, who would have otherwise missed the show the opportunity to see those great pieces. The conservatory is also a hot place for weddings. It is one of the most beautiful spots in central Ohio for a wedding. Be warned that the prices are steep and the dates get snatched up immediately (there is a huge line of people that camp out there the night before they release summer dates). more

Breathtaking! 6/9/2005

Franklin Park Conservatory is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon. The location is easily accessable and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. There are various rooms of plants, plus they have special events that showcase certain exhibits. Each year they have Butterflies and Blooms, which lasts through early September. more

great for kids and adults 5/3/2005

28-Acre Botanical Garden with delights inside and out. Plan to bring a picnic lunch. There is a small cafe, but food is overpriced sandwich offerings. Butterfly exhibit once a year is not to be missed. 50% off admissions and gift shop discount coupons are regularly in the Entertainment book. more

Urban Oasis 6/3/2003

Franklin Park Conservatory is truly a treasure in the Near East Side. From the 98 acre beautiful park to the free seasonal displays to the ever changing exhibits throughout the facility, the Conservatory is a joy to visit and live near. Those of us who are fortunate enought to live near this jewel in our central city know the wonders of escaping to this tropical paradise in the middle of one of central Ohio's snowstorms. An afternoon at the Conservatory can take one away to magical lands and sooth the spirit. The tranquil sounds, smells, and sights of the rainforest, desert, or island paradise truly please the soul. Please visit this wonder on the near east side and feel free to bring a picnic and stoll Franklin Park as well. Pros: beautiful displays, great park setting, ease of access Cons: none, none, none more

Phenomenal 8/7/2002

A beautifully natural hidden gem in the city's most urban area. The Conservatory will amaze visitors of all ages! Pros: Free Parking, Inexpensive Admission, Relaxing Environment more
