Love It 11/19/2008

A great place. I really love the nights they have live music. There is a DJ upstairs for those who want that also. The drinks are good and everyone's favorite bartender is SANDY. I highly recommend Frank's Pl. more

A real Ft. Greene gem. All ages, all races, great dancers, old school for reals! If you want to chill out, head downstairs to the old timey bar and play the jukebox. Men in hats still exist! Pros: No place like it in the world more

make this your first choice or your last it won't dissappoint 1/18/2007

if you haven't experienced FRANKS LOUNGE you must come out on a friday night after 11pm or a saturday night after 11pm Pros: great crowds, no drama, no young knuckle heads, excellent eye candy (male & female) Cons: needs a larger dance floor, and spacier restrooms more

Brooklyn's Hot Spot 4/21/2005

Frank's Lounge has an atmosphere consisting of Brooklyn's Ft. Greene and a collegic mix. A little bougie with a twist of hood gives for great dancing, partygoing and drinks. All it needs now is a slight renovations to set the mood for the spring and summer. The DJ's have great selections from hip-hop, old school, reggae and club music. When all three DJ's are playing in the same night, it's the best party you can get in Brooklyn. The drinks are delish and the recipe for a drama-free setting is all you need to enjoy. Pros: Music, Crowd, Drinks Cons: Needs Renovations, Needs More Guest DJ's more

Everybody loves Frank's 8/20/2002

I really wanna hate Frank's, mostly because the B&T crowd discovered it, and I'm predisposed to scoff at people with nothing better to do than wait outside the rope line. But Frank's is cool, especially when it's not too crowded. Stick to week nights and Sunday afternoons more

Still Cool 5/15/2002

OK, so Frank's has gotten way too much hype lately. But it's a sign of how cool this place is that it retains its soul nonetheless. Sure, there always seems to be a crowd of annoying college kids every time I go now, but the appeal of Frank's has always been the different crowds that rub up there, and the old-timers from the neighborhood aren't going anywhere yet. Plus you can see Lonnie Youngblood, forgotten soul dude from the 60s, here just about every night, it seems like, still blowing out the classics. And people actually dance here. more
