A great place for hanging out. The pizza is great here, fresh and delicious. Pros: null Cons: null

This was the worst Italian experience ever. The pasta was bland and lukewarm. The bread was stale and tasteless - not even sure what kind it was. I know that pizza is supposed ...

Family Friendly Great Vlaue Pizza and Pasta Joint 6/30/2007

My family and I read this and since they flew in from Hawaii they wanted a casual place for dinner for their first night in Austin. We went at 5:30pm on a Thursday night and there was ample parking. The youngest started with an order of minestrone soup (better than yours mom). The taste was authentic with lots of veggies. The 17 year olds split an 18" pizza. The crust was thin and crispy with lots of pepperoni. The baby ate a 10" pepperoni by himself. My sister and I ordered the Mama Sopranos baked ziti with meatballs. Lots of flavor with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We also shared the eggplant provolone. Delish! Both the pastas could have been split and would have served 4 easily. My other son had the DiMaggio sandwich. There was lots of salami which he liked. It could have used more vinaigrette. The surprise was that it was served on warm homemade bread. The best value for the adults was the wine. I was pleasantly surprised Coppola wine was the house wine. The DaVinci Chiant was delicious as well. We ordered two pizzas, two pastas with salads, asandwich, 5 glasses of wine, 3 sodas all for $70.00. A great value in the eyes of my Hawaiian family. We will definitely eat here again. Pros: Price to value Cons: I can see where parking can be a problem if you don't come early more

Quaint and worth the drive 5/21/2007

Really liked this place. I loved the atmosphere, the service and the food was terrific. The location stinks but it's worth every annoyance. Not the cheapest place in town for pizza with toppings, but hey you get what you pay for! Pros: All food items Cons: location more

Pretty good for Texas pizza 3/23/2007

Liked it better than top rated Mangia by far. Rudino's is still our first choice, but still a thumbs up. We will make a return trip for sure. Pros: Cute inside, reasonable prices, tasty pizza, lots of other options Cons: Parking, small inside more

Great grub! 1/12/2007

My husband and I go fairly often and usually order the same thing since we love it so much - Guido's garden salad, the Chairman of the Board pizza and all the coke we can drink. It's always good, and like to do a date night there, and have not had problems with the service (I don't have high expectations of service when we all live in a city full of college students). Parking is usually an issue though. Pros: Pizza, Salad, and the outside seating Cons: Parking more

Good fun place 1/3/2007

Frank and Angie's is an Austin institution. The food is good, consistent and very affordable. If you are on a budget and want some italian style food it's really hard to beat. Probably the best value in town. Parking can be a little tricky since it's next to Hut's hamberger place. But parking is tough all over town if you haven't noticed. Pros: good pizza and spaghetti Cons: parking more

Delicious pizza at an affordable price! 7/14/2006

This pizza was awesome... one of my favorites in Austin. Nothing bad to say about this place... the prices are just a little more than a normal pizza which is fine because its much better than a normal pizza place. Service was perfectly fine. Parking can be a bit difficult at times. Pros: good pizza, fast service Cons: parking more

THe best pizza ever 10/31/2005

I love this place. THey have the best pizza, I think it's b/c their sauce rocks!!! Cons: parking more

y-u-m 8/4/2005

i (heart) frank and angie's!! the pizza is simply amazing - the gina lollibrigida, the chairman of the board - and they have the best bar-b-que pizza in town (trust me, i didnt even want to try it and its awesome!!) Pros: the pizza!, good for groups, location Cons: parking more

Great Freakin' Pizza! 4/26/2005

THE best pizza in Austin. There is no comparison. This charming little place cannot be touched. While many restaurants have good pizza but the rest of the food suffers, Frank and Angies' other dishes are fantastic, as well. The daily specials are always an awesome deal and are always delicious! Pros: Pizza, Wine, On 6th St. Cons: Hard to find more

Good, but Not Great 4/9/2005

I went to Frank and Angie's based on past reviews in Citysearch. The pie was ok, but far from great. My biggest disappointment was the cheese on the pie. They must be using low-fat mozzerella. The cooler the pie gets, the chewier the cheese gets. Whole milk mozzerella stays gooey as the pie cools off. Otherwise the pie was ok. Don't get your hopes up! more

Overlooked 3/24/2005

While their next door neighbor Hut's is usually packed for lunch and dinner, do not overlook this gem. True they have great pizza, but try thr LaMotta calzone, and the Deniro meatball sandwich. more

MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE 2/14/2005

This place is a hidden gem. At least it's new to me. I've been several times in the last couple of weeks to try out different menu items and they've all been terrific! The pizza is the best I've had in this town--hands down. The pasta dishes are comparable to what you would get in a fine dining establishment for a lot more money. The desserts are to die for. The service is also excellent. I love it! Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

bland pasta 1/27/2005

This was the worst Italian experience ever. The pasta was bland and lukewarm. The bread was stale and tasteless - not even sure what kind it was. I know that pizza is supposed to be good here. Stick with it. more

Awesome Pizza! 7/9/2004

If you like the saucy but crispy flavor of NYC pizza, you'll love this place. Try adding spinach to your pizza and you'll get fresh baby spinach that is crispy and flavorful right on top! Great vegatarian options too. Enjoy. Pros: Atmosphere, Taste, Service Cons: , Avg + pricing more

What happened? 5/27/2004

I've been a loyal Frank and Angies diner for seven years...until three months ago. The first time I had a bad meal there, I thought it was a fluke, so I went back. The second time was even worse and the third time I couldn't even eat my pizza. Each time the cheese was rubbery and cold, the toppings were not spread around the pizza and they seem to be confused about what exactly feta cheese is. I would not recommend eating here and have since found a new favorite pizza place. more

GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT 12/15/2003

The only thing the last reviewer got right about Frank & Angie's is that the service is friendly. It is not just better "then" Pizza Hut--it is the best pizza in Austin. They don't have a meatball sub--they have a meatball calzone and a meatball sandwich. And they don't have anything resembling cheese sticks. If you're going to write a review--make sure you're in the right restaurant. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: none more

GREAT SERVICE, GOOD PIES, HOORRAH! 11/15/2003

Frank and Angie's is the best pizza place in Austin. I am from Chicago and used to live in NYC, so I'm fussy about pizza. Frank and Angie's crust is crispy, the toppings are fresh, the cheese is not too heavy/not too light, the sauce is yum. The waitstaff is friendly. The salad was also quite delish and everything was *very* well priced. Oh, and the cannoli--how could I forget. Sweet and ginormous! You won't go home hungry; you won't go home sick. I'm very glad to have found good pizza here in Austin. My only rec for F and A: fresh mozzerella would be a delightful pizza option. Otherwise, Frank and Angie's gets my devotion. Pros: great salad, good service, nice pizza Cons: no fresh mozzerella more

boffo 12/24/2002

Pizza's good, calzone better, specials are okay. Main problem is lack of parking and air conditioning blowing directly on tables/customers. more

Austin's Best!! 12/16/2002

On a Friday or Saturday night, expect to wait atleast 45 minutes - but it's worth it! The pizza is the best I've tasted! more

"Chairman of the Board" Rules! 12/10/2002

Thin to win - Frank & Angie's tops a marvelous crispy thin crust with loads of toppings. The "Chairman of the Board" (named for Frank Sinatra whose pictures are as ubiquitous here as Elvis' pics at Chuy's) is truly the King of the Hill when it comes to Austin pizza! more
