Fantastic Experience! 8/5/2007

I attended the Chelsea/Meat Packing Food Tour during a vacation to NYC. This tour was a hilight of my vacation. The tour guide was informative without becoming dull or talking too much and entertaining without becoming ""cheesy"". A comfortable atmosphere was maintained through the trip as the tour guide presented information, provided insights to the area, and presented food samples at various locations. Effrots were approrpiately made to accomodate food allergies (I'm allergic to shellfish - anothe tour member peanuts). The tour guide also maintained a comfortable pace so that we neither felt rushed nor lingered in one area too long. In addition, I was impressed that the guide was able to tactfully redirect questions and ""dawdlers"" so that the entire group was able to see as many places as possible and truly benefit from the tour.\r \r I can't wait to try all the other tours offered and will plan my next NYC vacation around doing so. Pros: Informative, Comfortable, Friendly, Entertaining.... Cons: Tours fill quickly more

Awesome Tour!!! 7/20/2007

Curt was our tour guide and he was great.!!! He made the tour fun...\r He was so knowledgable of area and all its history and about the food establishments\r themselves....The food tastings were wonderful, you don't want to eat alot before you go as the portions are good size.....\r I would reccommend this tour to everyone..... Pros: Knowelgable tour guide more

great tour 6/28/2006

Mike was our guide and he was great. We learned a lot of history and enjoyed some good food. The first stop on the Greenwich tour was Joe's Pizza. It probably can be knocked off the tour. It's definitely not the best pizza in Greenwich Village or Manhattan. You must get a beer at Chumley's. Definitely worth the time and money! Pros: small groups; great guides more

This Was the Highlight of Our Stay in NYC! 1/24/2006

Our guide, Curt, was absolutely phenomenal ~ he has hands-on experience with all the stops on this delectable tour, and was very informative regarding the history of the neighborhoods. The food was positively sublime, and we came away with an arsenal of knowledge of which places to come back to for gastronomic pleasures of every sort and scenario. This tour is a must-do, and make sure to try to ensure that you have Curt as your guide. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! Pros: Curt, GREAT Food, Good Price! more

Fantastic 7/10/2005

delightful tour 11/14/2004

I must say that we had a knowledgeable tour guide-Cindy. She gave us little known facts and history that me this tour one of the most ""worthwhile"" experience of our trip (and it was 32 degrees and pouring down rain!) more

Go on the first day of your visit. 12/17/2002

This was my husband and my first trip to NY together. We wanted to do a tour that was out of the ordinary and that would make us feel a little less like tourist. We had a great time learning about the village. Not only did we learn about restaurants but we learned about the architecture of the area and a little about the culture as well. The only negative was that we did the tour on our last day in NY. If you do the tour do it on your first day. Pros: not to crowded, good food, educational Cons: hard to get in more

It was a great Trip! 8/24/2002

This was my husband and myself's first trip to New York. We had about four days to explore and we were so glad we included the food tour of Greenwich Village in our itinery. I had read about the village and was keen to see this part of town. Booking over the internet enabled us to save time once we arrived. Our guide was well informed and quite humerous. We were so impressed we returned for dinner at the Home restaurant for my birthday treat and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal in the cosy garden atmosphere. We will hopefully return to this part of New York again some day. Jack and Jackie Johnston Buckie Scotland Pros: Great Value!, Small Group!, A lot of fun! more
