Flick Hair Studio

From the very beginning of my experience with Flick, they were friendly, helpful, and extraordinary. I took advantage of the Groupon offer they had but I waited until the last minute to make an appointment. Lucky for me, they understood my situation and extended the date in order for me to use my certificate. I received my confirmation call and the next day I headed over to check it out. I got a little bit lost and when I called for directions, they were able to help me get exactly where I needed to be. From the moment I stepped in the door, I felt like they were paying attention to what I said, wanted, and what would be best for my hair. My ""architect of style"" was Abigail and she was so wonderful! I didn't feel pressured to do anything or purchase any additional products. I completely trusted Abigail to do whatever she wanted with my hair after talking to her for a few minutes and that is extremely rare for me. Normally, if the person cutting my hair doesn't have curly hair, it will be a disaster because I have VERY curly hair that doesn't like to be straightened. Unlike many ""stylists"", Abigail didn't try to straighten my hair but she encouraged its natural curl with an amazing cut and style. She also helped calm down the blonde highlights I had by adding amazing reddish highlights that were phenomenal. Seriously, I still get compliments on my hair and it's been almost a month now. My hair and I really enjoyed our experience at Flick and I have never felt so happy leaving a salon. If you want to treat yourself to a fantastic experience, go to Flick. Before I was referred to Anna, I hadn't had a decent hair cut in 2 years. I explained exactly what I wanted to Anna and she made it even better. You receive a scalp massage, a shampoo and conditioner specialized for your hair. Anna cut my hair, blew it out and then finished the cut once it was dried and styled my hair. I felt amazing. It changed my whole day and I felt great for days after. Visiting Anna is like a mini vacation! more

I had gotten my hair highlighted once before I can to flick and need to get my roots touched up, plus wanted to change the color a bit. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but ended up LOVING what Abigail did. She is great. I will be returning for sure. more

Flick hair studio is a great place to go! The atmosphere is very chic and calming. Also, my hairstylist, Abigail, was very attentive to my needs and very friendly. Abigail did a great haircut on me and partial highlight. Even though, it is a little bit pricey, I will be coming back to see them again because of the great haircut and personalized service! more

My mom and I both went to Flick Hair Studio and it was an overall great experience. Right when we walked in they took care of us. Our stylist was Anna and she did an awesome job on both of us. My mom's haircut looks different and amazing. Her highlights were the best one's i've ever had done. She listened to what we wanted and gave us suggestions. Both of us got a cut and a highlight and Anna did an awesome job and made it fast :) We plan on going back because the atmosphere was relaxed and our stylist did exactly what we wanted. When I got my last cut at another, I had really high hopes...too bad my hopes were dashed when that stylist (who shall go unnamed) gave me more layers than a bad prom dress. So, when I heard about Flick, located in the Edgewood Retail Center on Moreland, from a friend whose hair was noticeably gorgeous, I decided to give it a shot. I called and booked with the stylist who happened to be available when I was. I have a head of thick,heavy, wavy locks that I straighten daily and I need a stylist who can handle that. The salon itself is chic and the music is totally indie-chill.\r My stylist: ANNA. Amazing. I was trying to grow out a very dark color into my natural reddish dark brown, and she was able to give me gorgeous highlights that make my roots disappear! Plus, I asked her not to chop my hair into horrendous layers...AND SHE DIDN'T! Anna was also able to give me a perfect blowout. I love my cut, my color rules, and I feel really pretty. Yay Anna! I visited Flick after having tried two different Aveda salons in Atlanta. Flick is the first place where ALL of the employees are extremely kind and attentive to the customer's needs, from scheduling/confirming the appt. to simple hospitality while waiting at the salon (offering a drink/magazine), to the actual hair cut and styling. Since I started going to Flick just over a year ago, Cherita has been cutting my hair. She is so sweet and has always done an excellent job creating a style that suits me, and makes adjustments when necessary. She had me come in a couple of days after an appt. because something about my style was bothering me, and she fixed it right there. As much as I might want a certain style, I know the stylists at Flick can tailor my ideas to something that looks even better than I would have expected. I don't think I received multiple compliments on my hair until Cherita started cutting it! The only other thing I could ask for in a hairstyle beyond what I get at Flick is one which doesn't have to be re-shaped as often at this length (but that may be impossible since hair doesn't stop growing....) It's refreshing to see that the stylists are so personable, yet always focused on their work and not on sharing the latest gossip with their client or even the stylist next to them. They also understand that the same cut or style does not work for everyone (some salons seem to think that EVERYONE's hair should always be flat ironed completely straight after a cut.....) I had an appointment with Katie, but she fell ill. Flick claimed to have called me on the day of the appointment and left a voicemail message for me about cancelling the appointment, but I never received it. I wasted my time in showing up for the appointment. I couldn’t reschedule for another week and the times they offered were not convenient, but I went ahead and made a second appointment. On the morning of the second appointment, I received one voicemail from Flick asking that the appointment be delayed because they were running behind. Then I received a second message asking if I could come in earlier. I’m at work and I don’t have time to babysit by cell phone. It wasn’t until I was heading out for the appointment that I received both messages. When I called Flick, they gave a rambling excuse. I only scheduled an appointment with Flick because of a discounted deal that I purchased through Groupon. I have now called Groupon and asked for a refund of the purchase. Groupon agreed that the lack of service warranted a refund. Perhaps if you pay full price, you get full price treatment. But if Flick is going to extend its services through avenues like Groupon, it should provide more than a discounted level of service. I got my haircut and highlights at flick a month ago (just now getting around to writing a review). Abigail the owner took car of me, and I couldnt be more thrilled with my new hairstyle. I have very thick, unruly, dry hair. When I went to flick, my hair was a mess because I have spent a long time without a cut as I was trying to grow out the length. Abigail was very attentive and listened to what I wanted and was able to take out alot of the volume of my hair without sacrificing the length. She added modern sleek layers and bangs and my hair even one month later is so much more managable and easier to style. Several friends have commented that this is the best haircut they have ever seen me with (and I have been to many of Atlanta's upscale salons before). I will definately be returning. I started going to Flick about 1 1/2 yrs ago specifically for Dana Walker, as she came highly recommended. Although I had to wait over a month to book my first appointment with her, she was well worth the wait and I've never had difficulty scheduling another visit with her. Dana has given me the best haircuts of my life and her attention to detail is impressive. I also like unique haircolor / hi-lites and she always has great ideas for my ever-changing desires, while maintaining the quality of my hair. Dana is a true professional in her field and I would recommend her to anyone! I bought a Groupon in hopes of finding a new stylist. I was paired with a very nice but very young, seemingly inexperienced girl. (She often painfully caught my ear with her comb and nearly burned me twice with the blowdryer.) I didn't feel that she was a good listener and didn't use her/my time effectively. (I am a very busy mom and she spent well over 30 minutes styling my hair.) Additionally, she was over-booked and it showed. While conditioning my hair for ""just a couple of minutes"" she spent over 20 minutes styling someone else. (Meanwhile, I have a head of cold, wet hair and am shivering.) The atmosphere was somehow bright *and* dingy and the music was awful - not in the least bit relaxing. While I think owner at Flick Hair Studio is well-intentioned I felt less like I was in a high-end, Aveda concept hair salon than an average haircutting place like Great Clips or Supercuts. I was happy that I had the Groupon since I only got what I paid for. I would have been severely disappointed if I had to pay full price. The neighborhood needs stuff like this so I hope this place makes it. Perhaps they change their biz model, offer cheaper cuts and services to go with the look and feel of the place and stylists. Used my Groupon here, excited about the prospect of saving some money, and going to a new salon Very nice staff, but I kind of felt rushed through, perhaps because I had a coupon. My friends hate my haircut, I am trying to like it, but I feel that the color is not what I was hoping for... Oh my... I don't know where to start. I arrived at the salon today at 10 am and left at 12:30 pm. My hair was very long and I brought a picture of exactly how I wanted my hair done. I was told - ""Your hair is almost like this picture, we just need to shape it and clean it up a little."" After sitting in the chair for two and a half hours my hair is a mess and short! The only way to fix this is to cut my hair really short and I mean one inch short. It was horrible! I'm never going back and will tell all my students, friends and clients about my experience. I normally would not care this much but I have been growing my hair out for over six months and now I have to start over again. Putting this in perspective it's just hair, but what gets me is the extreme disrespect and lack of professionalism of the owner of the salon. Don't go there! more

So, I've had terrible luck with hair stylists in Atlanta. The salons are either too stuck up and expensive, and the lower end salons just don't have the talent that I want. Most stylists won't listen to what I have to say, but all of that changed the instant that I went to see Katy at Flick Salon!! I had a botched dye job from the last guy I went to see, and Katy totally evened it out, and got my hair looking fantastic. She really truly knows what she is doing, and she's very sweet and takes care of you while you're there. I was a walk in, and they moved some stuff around just so I could be seen. Flick ROCKS. I've been going to Flick for over a year now. Cherita is the first and only hair stylist I've worked with as she was the first to do my hair and has always done an amazing job. I 100% recommend her.\r \r I have always been able to get an appointment within the same week (if not day) that I call - and they do a good job of calling and letting you know if they have something open up. I am always greeted by name when I go - everyone is very sweet and hospitable! Not to mention that since I've started going to Flick, I always love my haircuts! This studio is simply fabulous. The support staff is super friendly. The only stylist I've encountered is Cherita, but I am so satisfied that I won't look any further than her. She's not only sweet and attentive, but she's also the only one that can tame my seemingly unmanageable hair. Ask for Cherita. You won't be disappointed. Cherita has been cutting my hair since her training days at Flick and I have never been disappointed. Not only is she sweet but she consistently provides me with a hair style that looks great, even when I go too long between cuts. I can't imagine letting anyone else near my hair! more
