These are the places that are vanishing because of the big box stores. So much more fun, and you know you are supporting hard working locals that give a town personality. Go ahead and pay a buck and a half even if you can find it at the dollar store. It's worth the difference to keep these places around. Unique! more

Everything from the of this place upon entering seems odd or different from your typical store. Not only is it a small store but it is very cramped and has an old/ used look about it. The items being sold in it look like something you would find in the dollar store and pay a dollar for. However, you end up paying more than you would like. The only good thing I is that it does serve the seniors that live close by. Also, if you are looking for something that is hard to find, look here for a close substitute. more

Neat assortment 8/16/2005

You'll find stuff at fisher's variety store that you never knew existed. Whether you are looking for cards or stationary, or wrapping paper, or a unique and special gift on mother's or father's day, then you should stop by fisher's variety store. It doesn't have the selection of a wal-mart, but you feel good about spending your money at this little place! more

Hometown simplicity 8/14/2005

Fisher's Variety Store is located right in the middle of the village's business district. They carry many things, from stationary to spices. Their friendly staff is always willing to assist you in any way they can. They have conveient hours, and in this day of all the megastores, it is nice to know there is a place that you can go that is priced right and is benefitting the whole community. I hope they are in business for many years to come. more
