Friendly service, Excellent quality, and Experienced tailor 4/12/2008

Marina is the BEST! I had 2 elegant dresses that needed major alterations, but only wanted someone with lots of experience to work on them. I would rather pay more to get it done right than have an unexperienced tailor ruin them. I read the reviews on Citysearch and drove >20 miles to see Marina. I was extremely happy with her work and she was very cheerful and friendly. She also had no problem telling me what could and couldn't be fixed and gave me suggestions on how to work with the dresses, which really helped. She's very honest and I'm glad I found her. I've recommended her store to many of my friends who are also in need of a tailor to fix formal dresses (it's banquet season for grad schools). She's definitely worth the drive! I never write reviews, and this is my first one, but I was so happy with Marina's service, I had to write one for her. If you're looking for a tailor who cares about you, then go to Marina. Best tailor in town 2/26/2008

When I first started going to First Class Tailors, I was surprised by the professionalism of its owner. Now that I have been going there for a while, I can't think of any other place that I would rather go to to get my clothes fixed. The owner knows her business and she will not cheat you or try to convince you to do something that will not look good. Pros: incredible service, great work ethic more

Bridesmaid Dress Miracle Worker! 2/21/2008

I've never been inspired to review a business on Citysearch before although I use it to read other people's reviews all the time but, this time, I just HAD to tell the world how much I LOVE Marina! She worked an absolute miracle on a bridesmaid's dress that just didn't seem like it could ever fit me properly, let alone look good on me! But, thanks to Marina's skills & her helpful, super friendly & honest personality, she managed to turn a dress that I despised into a dress that I actually was proud to wear & got TONS of compliments on. Her prices are reasonable & she is a doll. I'll never take my clothes anywhere else for alterations again! THANK YOU MARINA! superb work, friendly and warm 2/9/2008

This was the first time I had ever gotten anything professionally tailored so I was a little nervous. But from the moment I walked in, Marina was so welcoming and courteous. She is honest and will tell you whether something is worth getting tailored and provide you with fashion / shopping advice as well. more

Just really great tailor 1/29/2008

1st Class Tailor came very highly referred to me by a coworker. I don't live or work that close to the store, but Marina is worth the drive. She is pretty great - her work is first rate, and her attentive service is a breath of fresh air. The prices are really good too. All this attention on City Search has not diminished the service quality one bit. I wish all business were this friendly and ran this well. more

Super knowledgeable about what can and can't be done (and she can always find a way to fix a problem), and sweet on top of it; I'd trust her with my best and most expensive clothing. more

At First Class tailors not only are you always greeted cheerfully but you get a great tailoring job. Marina has been helping my family for over five years. She has consistently done a great job for a reasonable price and in a timely manner. She gives great fashion advise and will even call to remind you to pick-up clothes that you forgot. If you are in a bind she is always willing to help. Pros: Job well done more

Great alterations for reasonable prices! 11/14/2007

I needed to have a few expensive items altered and I was very nervous taking it to just any tailor so I spent a lot of time reading reviews. After reading the great reviews on citysearch for First Class, I decided to take the plunge - and I'm so glad I did! The fitting was quick and efficient, the resulting items were perfect and the prices were pretty reasonable for the great workmanship! I appreciated the honest tips (in fact, she refused to alter one of my dresses because she thought it looked good as-is, and I'm inclined to agree with her now). Only bad thing is the terrible parking - it's valet, and they validate parking, but it's a teeny crowded lot. Pros: Efficient, skillful alterations & Reasonable prices Cons: Parking more

Did a good job, but expensive! 11/13/2007

I have been here twice and agree with the other reviews regarding the friendly and knowledgable service. However, this place is expensive. I brought in a pair of pants to be hemmed and it was $25. I could not believe it!! I thought it was very expensive, it was with the original hem, but still...... If you have the extra money I would reccomend this place, but if you don't I would go some where else. more

Fabulous Tailor 11/6/2007

This tailor is absolutely GREAT. They never do anything less than top quality work. After having received less-than-quality results elsewhere, I would never again trust my clothes to anyone other than First Class Tailors. Not only do they do great work, but Marina always gives her honest opinion about whether an item is even worth the expense to alter. She has so much experience and such a great eye for knowing what looks good, that she knows whether or not altering it can make it look right. She has often advised me to return an item to the store or give it to Goodwill because she believes it cannot be altered to look good and she doesn't want me to waste my money, even though it means she is turning away work. Reliable, quick, detailed, friendly; just all-around fantastic! 10/22/2007

I brought in a bridesmaid dress that fit like a bag. A week later, I picked it up from Marina and it now fits like a glove, just perfect. The workmanship is beautiful. Marina is Amazing!! 10/14/2007

I went to Marina at First Class Tailors about 3 months ago. I needed several pants hemmed in a few days' time for an international conference that I was attending. Marina made sure that my slacks were hemmed correctly and on-time for my meeting. She even called me to let me know that my items were ready a little early, in case I wanted to pick them up. Marina has an excellent sense of style and she educated me on what length my hems should actually be. She is very frank and I greatly value her opinion. I now realize that my other tailor was over-shortening my slacks. Marina's tailoring is extremely flattering for my body type-she's a miracle worker. Marina is my hero!! Pros: Marina more

Marina is the best! 10/1/2007

I have been going to Marina for many years and would never go anywhere else! She does quality work at very reasonable prices, has an incredible eye for detail, and as other posts mentioned---is very honest and will tell you if something doesn't or won't look good. It is very rare to find someone with all of these qualities, which is why no matter where in LA I've moved, I still go to Marina. I trust her totally and completely! She does everything from original hems on jeans to dress pants to formal wear. I have taken items to her in all of these categories and have never been disappointed. I send my boyfriend and all of my friends to her, and recommend her to anyone in LA searching for a true professional in this field. more

Marina is the absolute best tailor that you'll find in Los Angeles. I trusted her with one of the most expensive suits I've ever bought and her alterations came out perfectly. Best tailor hands down 8/8/2007

I have been going to Marina for years and always receive top notch quality and service. She is totally honest and will tell you if something is not going to look right, or not worth it for the price etc. I won't go anywhere else. From original hemming on jeans to alterations on more expensive pieces, I totally trust her and send all of my friends there (one of whom drives for an hour to get there). Marina is the BEST and totally HONEST! Not only will she come and help you clean out your closet but she will make your old items NEW... I see that you have many women's reviews but she is an expert tailor for men. Both my sons and my husband use her for suits, pants, jackets, shirts, leather, etc. There is nothing she can't do and if she can't, she will tell you. Pros: Parking isn't perfect but she is worth it. more

My first experience at First Class Taylors was about 10 years ago. I brough in a dress that another taylor had ruined and I could not wear. Marina was able to not only fix it but make it look fabulous at an affordable price. I have been thrilled with the service ever since, from shirts to pants but especially with the great fashion advice that Marina (the owner) provides. She is up to date with all the fashion from head to toe and is not afraid to tell you exactly what she thinks of your outfit. It's really hard to find honest people in this town so I'm glad I found First Class Taylors. Pros: Very friendly. more

Get It Done Right 7/1/2007

Great tailor shop with 1st class service. Be prepared for direct and honest opinions about your alterations by the owner, Marina, she will not stear you wrong. I've been bringing my clothes to her for the last 5 years, and I travel out of my way to drive to her shop from the valley. Does great work on jean alterations. Ask for original hem, the little x-tra cost is worth it. Highly recommended, professional service, dependable, and great workmanship. more
