Worst service that tops the rest. 12/30/2011

If you do decide to eat here, please order for pick up instead of dining and save the frustration. Bring cash, not credit cards. Why? because 1st Chinese Bbq doesn't like paying expenses and taxes with the little money they should get. When we were finishing up, our waitress DEMANDED us her tip nonattentive, rude service. The food is decent and i've had it many times, but the outstanding service no doubt leaves a horrible taste in your mouth out the door. more

Pisspoor Service, okay food 8/18/2011

Yes, pisspoor, it's THAT bad. Unless you enjoy pisspoor service, I'd go elsewhere. The Chinese food is decent, but nothing to rave about, and definitely not worth the frustration of bad service. If you DO decide to come here, remember to bring cash or else you'll be screwed out of another $4 when you walk to the gas station's ATM. more

Is OK but not the best 7/29/2011

Food is OK but you need to remember that they do not take credit cards - is cash only. more

Great food, awful service 1/19/2010

I have eaten here many times, both dining in and take out. Do not, I repeat, do not dine in unless you are actually Chinese. I am firmly convinced that the owners/management give clearly preferential treatment to Asian Americans. We were moved from our table after we had already started eating so that the owners could make room for a bigger party of Asian diners. I have stood in line waiting for a table, and Asian families who have come in after us have been seated before us. My crying children have waited for food and drink, when Asian diners who have come in after us are mid-way into their meals. There is also eye contact and smiling at the Asian diners, gruffness towards others. It's definitely an interesting experiment in reverse racism. At any rate, they don't get my business nearly as often as my tummy would like me to give it, just on principle. Sadly, their roast duck and pork is outstanding, the stir fried Chinese broccoli is out of this world. Remember to bring cash, they don't take credit cards. Pros: all the food is fantastic Cons: service is just terrible more

Restaurant of The WORST service 9/7/2008

This is a restaurant of the WORST service that I've ever been in Plano. They DIDN'T give us change for tip. They thought the balance should be the tip. As my understanding, I wanted to leave the tip on the table, but they took away without my permission. It seemed to me I was forced to pay the tip. What made me mad was the cashier who seemed to be the owner never smiled when we said bye to her even our tip was more than 15%. If you do want to eat their food, I recommend you to order dish to go. Don't waste your tip. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Cons: Not worthy for the tip more

Best BBQ Pork in Dallas 12/27/2007

First Chinese BBQ is the best place for Chinese-style BBQ Pork in Dallas. I tried many time to make BBQ Pork like they do. But it waste my time. I rather have it at Firest Chinese BBQ. I tried couple things in menu. It was fine. It doesn't impress me like BBQ Pork does. The staff sometimes is not attentive. more

Great Authentic Chinese (Cantonese) Cuisine 8/24/2007

This is one of the restaurants we frequent on a weekly basis. We almost always get the roast duck (half or full) and BBQ pork. This place is authentic Chinese so don't be shocked by the whole ducks hanging behind the counter and pig's head displayed behind the counter. Arrive early on almost any night to avoid long wait for a table. Pros: great food at reasonable prices Cons: cash only, a bit noisy at time more

What BBQ? 4/30/2007

We went here with some friends who are regulars. I had the ""marinated chicken BBQ"". First of all, unlike most ""American"" restaurants where everyone's food is delivered at about the same time, the meat was delivered first. Since only two of us ordered a meat entree, this meant that half of us were waiting... and waiting... and waiting. The chicken I ordered was cold, undercooked, and tasted horrible. It was not ""marinated"" at all. It was simply coated with some sauce that tasted weird. The vegetable dishes that my wife and friend's wife ate were better but oversoaked with sauce. We could barely understand the waitress, not only because it was so noisy, but because she couldn't understand us. Complaining about the entree didn't do anything but add to their confusion. Had we been at most other restaurants, a cold-served meal would have been a disaster. To them it seemed normal. We also actually had to ASK for a knife and spoon. If you want good oriental BBQ, pass this one by and head to Dallas or Richardson. Pros: Good location Cons: Bad food & customer service, accepts ONLY cash, noisy more

Best Chinese BBQ in DFW 5/30/2006

I've been to the Carrollton, Plano, and Richardson locations (quality is consistent throughout). Chinese BBQ here is great (tried pork and duck), great place to takeout some smoked meats for a fast dinner. Or dine in at First Chinese BBQ for some authentic Chinese homecooking (restaurant is perpetually packed with Asian families!), everything is fresh and refreshing (huge fan of the noodles in black bean sauce!) Pros: Food Cons: Cash only, Service more
