I think this is the filthiest shop in Richmoind. It never used to be, but the animal rooms are terrible. They don't have half as much animals as they used to. What animals they do have aren't friendly, and are in filthy cages. My daughter and I said something to a worker, but nothing was resolved. The ferrets have piles of waste in their cages along with flies, and the parrot cages look like they havent been scooped in weeks. The only thing this store seems to care about is puppies and money. I just want to clarify something. I work for Fin and Feather. We DO NOT buy from puppy mills. You can tell, obviously, when puppies come from puppy mills. They have ""hospital"" style collars on. Our puppies come from a few breeders, who choose NOT to advertise, because advertising puppies draws unwanted, questionable buyers. Our puppies come from breeders. We prove this through breeder paperwork. You get the AKC or CKC papers WITH the dog! With the breeders home address and number to contact them yourself if any questions arise. This is black and white, written proof. Please remember.. puppies WILL be SOLD, whether from a breeder or in a shop, regardless of where they are from. We just choose to do it right. This store has started selling puppies. No reputable breeder sells to pet stores. 99% of pet store dogs are from puppy mills where the conditions are horrible. Please don't support pet stores that sell puppies. more

This is an awesome pet store. I like to try to frequent locally owned places whenever possible, and I have started buying all my dog and cat food here. For one thing, they carry lots of the really good premium brands of pet food that grocery stores and even places like PetSmart don't carry, such as Wellness, Chicken Soup, Merrick, etc. But the best part is the friendly service. When you first walk in, it's like you walked into The Lost Boys because a lot of the kids who work here are kinda ""goth"", but they are the friendliest, most helpful bunch of kids you could want to meet....the service is really old-fashioned, like something out of Mayberry. Every trip to Fin and Feather is a pleasant experience, and their prices are actually quite good too. I love this place and recommend it highly !
