Chill Laid Back Irish Pub 2/2/2010

I’ve been going to this bar for a few years now and besides all of the great beers on tap, I thoroughly enjoy the food. There is an AWESOME Lunch Special for $9 during the week that includes soup/salad and a select entrée. The salad is awesome because of the dressing and the Blackened Chicken Sandwich has become a favorite of mine. There is a Chipotle like Mayo on the sandwich that gives it a kick. The fries are always crispy and crunchy. There is also a deal for brunch on the weekends- $10/$12 for an entrée that includes choice of beer/bloody mary or mimosa. This place gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights but like any bar in NYC that goes without saying. Looking to try something different? Give this place a try. Pros: Great Beer on Tap, Happy Hour, Lunch/Brunch Deals. Cons: This place gets packed on the weekends. more

Perfect place for a birthday 9/23/2009

I celebrated my birthday here this past weekend. It was perfect for my friends and family who had attended. The bartenders were friendly as well as the management. They set aside a place for me and my friends to sit and enjoy drinks. We stayed out late and enjoyed every moment of the party. The place wasnt pretentious or to crowded. I highly recommend fiddlesticks for your next birthday celebration. Pros: fun place and affordable drinks more

Great Happy Hour! 7/25/2009

I stopped by Fiddlesticks to meet a friend for happy hour cocktails on friday, I had such a blast! the drinks were great! ($4 for mixed drinks, you can't go wrong!)and the bartenders were so much fun! The place was busy and as the night went on, it was slammed! a little too busy for me but I got over it! Great place to meet people! more

Very different in the week from weekends.... 2/18/2008

As a resident of the W Village I have visited Fiddlesticks for the occasional late lunch during the week. It is a no frills place where i can catch up on football (Soccer to you i'm sure) and have a pint. I get to chat to an English bartender which makes me feel at home, and I enjoy decent food at a fair price, especially if I make the lunch special! The weekends are a totally different affair - hordes of kids come to dance and get drunk and who knows what else! not my thing but hey, I guess i'm getting old. more

NYE EXCELLENT! 1/4/2008

New Years Eve was awesome here, the bartenders were cool, and a great crowd, would do it again in a second! more

burger and beer 5/7/2007

Fiddlesticks will always be our go to spot in the village. The bar has incredible burgers and a great atmosphere there is always a decent crowd and a fun vibe either at night or in the afternoon it never disappoints. Cons: sidewalk cafe, brunch more

suuure 4/13/2007

its a great place for cheap drinks during happy hours and i love the assortment of candy given out in the restrooms but it can become so crowded here that you can't even more on weekends more

Surprisingly good brunch deal with drinks included...and YUMMY food. 12/4/2006

NO, we were not hungover...so our tastebuds were in check, and we loved the food. Burger, Fish and Chips w and Shepherd's pie were all grea...plus, 2 free drinks with each brunch entree. Our bill was $35 for 6 alcoholic beverages (1 champagne/wine concction, 3 bloody marys...delicious...and 2 beers), and three meals. We all cleaned our plates. Can't beat that! Atmosphere was great, old, cozy...much like the bars we visited in Ireland. I bet it's a fun place to go out to at night.... Pros: great deal, good food Cons: service was a tiny bit slow...but it was shift change... more

BEST HAPPY HOUR SPOT!!! Great place to meet people! Excellent Food and service! Pool Table! 9/10/2006

I had the best time at this Irish Bar and restaurant with a group of people I brought for drinks. We ate authentic delicious irish cuisine served by the most friendliest and (very good looking staff I must say) who gave us really great service for how busy it was. We ended up staying all night having a great time. We met the owner who was so nice to introduce herself to us and actually sat with us for a little while asking us were we were from. I recommend dining outside to people watch. The music and the bartenders (3 words HOT HOT HOT!) were awesome and the bar decor itself really well put together with imported Irish moldings, pictures and decor. You can tell the owners know what they had in mind and instore for their patrons. When you go to a bar that has everything like this does you know they did it right. We definetly will be coming back to Fiddlesticks and MOST definetly can't wait to check out and dine at her new spot coming soon!!\r \r more

Best Irish Pub Below 14th Street! 9/10/2006

I was just at Fiddlesticks this past Friday, after work, and had the best time! The bartender was reason alone to go! \r I just have to say that I spent all my money just to watch this cute bartender work all night. \r This is not just some small NYC bar to squeeze into, there is plently of room to drink, play pool, catch a smoke on the outside cafe...and obviously, flirt with the bartenders!\r Definite recommendation! Pros: Bartenders Cons: Leaving more

Best pub in town -- friendly staff, good food 9/10/2006

My friends and I watched the World Cup games at this authentic Irish pub and had the best time! The beer selection is vast, the food is great & the staff could not have been more friendly. The whole atmosphere was very welcoming and fun. I have since been back several times and each time was better than the last. Definitely a great pace to recommend to your friends if you just want to hangout, eat good pub food & be among fun people. I send all my out-of-town friends there & they love it! Plus, you can't beat the Monday night football deals! Pros: Drink selection, atmosphere Cons: No veggie burgers more

Bustling Irish Pub 5/23/2006

Fiddlesticks is pretty great for people-watching and bumping into. The pub pretty large with a decent amount of space. However, it gets packed on the weekends with a mostly collegiate, recently post-collegiate crowd looking for some beers and fun. Overall, a great place to be if you're looking for some simple fun. more

Brunch... what a deal!!!!!!!!!! 1/11/2006

Last saturday afternoon my friend a I met for brunch. I was surpised at what a deal their brunch special was. I order a fantastic burger and had an option of two toppings. I also had an option of two drinks (bloodymary, mimosa, beer, screwdriver and I think house wine). Service was good and staff was friendly! I'm think of booking my next party there. Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly Staff, Good food more

Honestly 12/6/2005

I've been going for years after finding it on a pub crawl night. Honestly, it's nearly always fun to hang. Bouncers and bathroom attendant only on weekends are a necessary evil. The food can be hit or miss on occasion but always palatable. Ive never sent anything back but others have and theyre always happy to make it right. Some of the wait staff arent keen on service but they get dragged over the coals so anyone with some sympathy can understand someone having a bad day. The bar staff are always warm and friendly, but dont challenge them to a drinking contest unless you have very deep pockets and a very high alcohol tolerance. It can get quite ugly (for foolishly over-zealous patrons you know who you are)! ;-) Lastly, if you look young, bring ID!!! Pros: Happy Hour till 8, Bar staff, DJ music, Great atmosphere Cons: Crowded on weekends, Noisy on weekends, Drunk college nerds more

Great Happy Hour!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/23/2005

Three dollar happy hour, can't beat that! Good music and a friendly staff! more

great burgers and happy hour 11/5/2005

I was pretty impressed with the interior and clientele. Large place and very friendly staff makes this place a nice alternative to the bars in the area. They have a big outside area and serve food too, the burgers are terrific and a $3 happy hour you can't beat. I will def. be back! Pros: staff, food, beer more

I have been to much better places 10/20/2005

We just went last night after work and were very disappointed. Our waitress at first was very sweet and even came back to let me know she accidently poured the wrong beer for me but most importantly it wasn't that cold. We both had fish and chips and it was nothing more than an oversized ball of greasy batter over sub-par mushy fish.We had to finally find another waitress and ask for our check and the one that originally started to serve us managed to totally ignore us. We won't go back for sure! Pros: atmosphere Cons: poor service, bad food more

Not a lot more you could ask for.. 9/21/2005

We love Fiddlesticks. Good beers, and an authentic Irish atmosphere and decent wines by the glass. Its a mad-house on the weekend but that's par for the course and great if you're in the mood for it. Extremely friendly bar staff, excellent food and fun music make it the place we like to start and/or end an evening out. These guys know how to run a NY Irish bar (and believe me I've been to more than a few). Check out the ladies behind the bar as well! Pros: Bar-Staff, Atmosphere, Food more

BOUNCER WAS A...VERY BAD MAN 9/15/2005

I love the fact that the bartender looked at my ID for about 10 minutes, held up the line and repeatedly asked me if I was of age (I'm 24). Finally when he gave it back and I walked in he proceeded to try to give me crap about copping an attitude. So besides the fact that the bartender is pissed because of the roids costing so much and he only makes 7 a hour....it was less than adequate. Pros: beer, furniture, dimly lit Cons: bouncer, stupid bouncer, idiot bouncer more

Always a good time 1/12/2005

I always have a good time at Fiddlesticks. The service is good, beer is fresh, and always a good mix of people. Definitely suggest giving it a shot. Pros: Service, Atmosphere more
