I have been going to Federico Hair Salon for years. I am always treated with the outmost respect and dignity. Federico personally does my hair, although other stylists have aswell. The cuts are always magnificant and my hair looks amazing for days. I was apalled when i came across other comments critizing their excellent work. Federico has never hired a tatooed receptionist and they wait for you to be ready to leave beofre presenting you with a check. When i first started going to Federico my hair was a mess, and now it is amazing. AGNES is a wonderful stylist and i support her work fully. I couldnt help but notice the last comment made and had to comment. i 100% absolutley agree with the comment made.. atgnus is a horrible hairstylist, she hsouldnt even be allowed to cut hair and judging by the looks of her i dont think she knows beauty or understands it. shes a complete idiot, if your pretty keep away from her because shes a jealous insecure woman who will butcher your hai rbelieve me im living proof she butcherwed my hair back in january and still waiting for it to grow out!!!!!!!!!! i cant believe she works at a 57th st salon i seen garbage men who look better than her and probably can do hair better than her too...before butchering other womans hair take a real course in beauty and fix yourself you butcher Pros: very private atmosphere Cons: agnus more

Massimo and Federico are the best! i would go nowhere else to get my hair done! Massimo is such a nice gentleman and i LOVE his accent. Hes such a nice guy, but besides that he does my hair amazingly!! I got my cut and highlights by Massimo and my hair truly looks great, i can never get it to look this good. I'm DEFFINITELY going back soon! more

I just read the review that was recently posted and i am personally appalled. I have been going to this salon for years and years and have never had a bad experience. Federico is one of the nicest and most genuine men i have ever met, he is full of personality and character, he always listens to me, gives me advice, and i feel very at home when i'm there. I receive wonderful service and my hair has looked amazing for the past 7 years. I will return to Federico and i strongly urge everyone to also try this salon because i know from experience that it is a truly wonderful salon! Pros: Great service for the value more

I went into the salon to get a consultation; because I heard Frederico was so great; well no personality at all; I am so glad I met him before I allowed him to touch my head. I don't even understand how he stays in business. I thought he was rude and abrassive. Not my kind of place; they can keep it. Boy from some of the reviews I believe I saved myself some money. I always had a problem with finding a good hair stylist, last week my lock had changed, I met Agnes in Federico Hair Salon, she is perfect. There is no other harisstylist that could do such an amazing job with my hair like Agnes. The salon has great atmosfare and service, they served me a delicious capucino, I was pleased with people that work there and so happy about my new hair cut! :) I highly recomed this place to every one . It is worth to pay for. more

Federico gave me the most gorgeous haircut I've ever had. I could not be happier, seriously. He listened attentively and reviewed pictures (I brought in ones of Michelle Pfeiffer). He gave me beauitful layers, created body and movement, and then blew out my hair and curled my hair stunningly. I wish I had planned to go to a party tonight because my hair has honestly never looked better. He is masterfully talented, and a perfectonist at achieving a haircut that's just effortlessly beautiful. I normally have my hair cut at Oscar Blandi, and have also been to AKS and Fekkai. I can't say I've ever walked out of any of those salons after a haircut and said to myself, "wow". After reading some of the previously posted reviews, i was wary about going to the salon but my friend highly recommended it to me and THANK GOD i went and experienced it for myself. I was treated like a star and i have nooo idea what anyone could find wrong with this salon. They were very nice, there was a lounge area to sit and waite, although i did not have to waite very long. I went because i needed to change my look, ive had the same look since pretty much college and it really needed a refresher. Federico gave me a very new fresh and short haircut with some highlights. I love it, i look ten years younger, i wish i would have found this place before! more

I searched for a new salon online and when i found this one, i thought it would be very promising, especially after looking at their website and seeing all their credits. I had no problems making the appointment and when i showed up, everyone was very accomodating and even offered me a good cappucino. Federico himself did my cut and color and i can honestly say its never looked better. I loved it and i will deffinitely be going back!! Deffinitely recommend this salon! Since my stylist disappeared i cant seem to find a good hairstylist so i searched the internet and found Federicos hair salon a few weeks ago,I read some good reviews so figured i'd give it a shot. i called and made an appointment,the receptionist had set me up with angus. It was towards the end of the day when I arrived to the salon I was greeted by a very aggressive tattood receptionist, i expected it to be a more conservative salon considering its location. My consultaion took about 2 minutes, by the looks of her i wasnt feeling too confident but went with the service anyway. I ended up looking exactly the same but with a bad blowout, the blowout didnt even last a day i had to wash it the next day my blowouts usually last a a few days thats when you know its a good blowdry.. She had no idea how to work with my type of hair. on top of that the receptionist was on top of me about paying half way into my blowdry, i felt like i was being kicked out,I left respectfully but will never ever go back, i dont recommend her to anybody,shes definelty not worth what she charges. more

I went here for about a year and absoutely loved it. I went to Agatha. However, after a haircut that looked like it was styled from the '90's, I called her up and told her i didn't like it, expecting her to fix it since I had been a loyal client to her and wasn't happy this time. Federico?s is an upscale salon for men and women, old & young, for hair assessments, treatments and design/styling. It is a place where hair is studied, attended to and then observed thereafter. Their service does not end after you leave the day of your appointment. Be assured no hair design can leave uncaringly. Satisfaction is a on going reality. My hair is really long and thick. During a hot moist day or if I sweat ? it?s like a lions main or a horses tail. But the 6 hour Japanese Hair treatment left my coarse hair thicket into silky, bouncy perfectly straight hair. People everywhere were amazed as I was and still am. Federico gave me a guarantee that it would last for eight months. If it didn?t, I can come back to have it redone free of charge with no appointment. I would leave the shower and just run my fingers thru it and that was it. PERFECT! For a whole year. Forgot to mention. You will be treated like Royalty. You are pampered and soooo comfortable while you?re there. Plus they?re all so entertaining. But it?s stylist there that lure me in. I never thought that a hair appointment could involve so much talent, knowledge and science. And they?re all just artists as well. These People have God given gifts and, in the hair industry, Federico has the collection of those Gifted artists. You?ll see. Ya just gotta go!!! A friend of mine recommended this place to me because my hair was screaming for help. It was a totally different experience for me walking into this salon from the others I have tried, super cozy and a warm friendly reception from everyone there. Olga highlighted & styled my mangled nest into something that couldn't stop me from staring in the mirror because my hair looked amazing! which it hadn't in ages...The color & style was exactly what I wanted, so I went back before my vacation and am going again next month. If you get a chance definitely give this place a try-you won't be disappointed. more

Absolutely an amazing experience! I had Agnes do my hair and she was fantastic! She is very personable and great at her job. I've managed hair salons in the past and have worked with a lot of hair stylists. I'm very picky and will be going back to Agnes from now on. (I just moved to NYC a month ago and was referred to her). The salon is very clean and Federico (the owner) was there and very personable as well. Pros: great work, prices are reasonable, Cons: a little hard to find it's on the 5th floor.. (but don't let that sway you!) more
