Farias' Surf & Sport

I got horrible customer service in beach haven Faria's surf shop. I shopped there on 9/11/12 without any problems. I purchased 3 items- 1 being an 11.99 umbrella. I returned on 9/13/12 to purchase another umbrella for 11.99. The staff told me there were no 11.99 umbrellas in the store. I said I purchased 1 a day earlier but they assured me there were no umbrellas for 11.99 in the store. They asked for my receipt which was at home. When I returned home I found my receipt and called the store. The young man who answered was rude.His name might have been Rob. He asked why I was calling. Now he told me there were umbrellas for 11.99, 9.99 or 5.99 for sale in the store. I told him I would have purchased 1 if he had only showed me them when I was there. He asked me what the point of my call was. I worked in Nordstrom for many years. The sales staff could use a lesson or two in customer service ettiquette. This gentleman was beyond rude. There were 3 guys behind the counter and not 1 offered to show me any umbellas in the store or offered help. Sad. This is my first review online.\r more

Farias Surf Shop has to be one of the best Surf Shops on the Island - if not in this whole area.They have the greatest selection of surf clothes - they carry all the major brands - and the people that work for them are very knowledgeable and friendly. We go to the store alot because they always have something new. can't wait for their Ship Bottom store to be done - it looks great from the outside - they have 3 stores on the ""I"" - Surf City, Ship Bottom and Beach Haven - all a little different - but all really great - my friend got a surf lesson from one of their instructors and really had a good time - learned alot and got advice about what board to buy for his ablility - now he's really enjoying the sport of surfing - thanks to Farias' - alot of ""tourists"" go to their store - but the locals are really loyal to Farias - the guys at Farias do alot of surfing not only on LBI but all around the world -they're really nice and you can learn alot from them - - they take the time to help you out and explain everything to you about the products they carry - I got great advice on sunglasses - now I know about the difference in the lenses which I never knew before - can't say enough about their staff - you feel really good walking into their store - you know that you aren't getting ""ripped"" off - they seem to really care about you - don't miss this store when you visit the ""I"" - it's worth the trip - Pros: all the best brands, friendly ,knowledgeable staff more
