This Wall Street landmark has been servicing lower Manhattan since 1934. Al and Michael Platt (2nd and 3rd Generation owners) provide thoughtful insight on wine tasting, are generous with their knowledge of wine growing regions, grapes, and methodologies, and can always be counted on giving you the better wine for less money than the one you thought was good (i.e. Kendall Jackson, Yellowtail, Woodbridge, etc.).
Wine tastings are held every Friday from 4-7pm at no charge, so you can experience different grapes from different regions without spending any $$.
They not only tell you about the better, lesser-known wines, they let you sample them too.
What else can you ask for?
PS - Excellent single malt scotch selection, and plenty of other spirits too.
