pizza and calzone are out of this world 7/2/2006

We ate at Ray's as much as possible. There are several places that say Ray's Pizza and they are all the greatest. My husband got a calzone and said that if he had been standing up when eating it, his legs would have caved. It's that good. Any pizza you get is great too. We were watching an old rerun of S.(citysearch won't accept this word) and the City the other night and they were at this Ray's eating and ""Steve"" says it's the best in the city. Without a doubt! I asked a couple of locals where to grap a slice, and they all said go to Ray's\r They were right I stopped by Ray's for a slice multiple times while in town for work. more

New York's BEST Pizza!!! 6/7/2005

I've ordered from Ray's Pizza on 856 8th Ave. so many times! They're ALWAYS fast & their food is soooo delicious! I even go there just to sit in the place! It's amazing to see how many people come from all over, to this 1 pizzeria. It's known everywhere! I was shocked, because people just wanted to buy pizza to fly back home. I mean, that's got to say something about it, right? Not to mention, this is celebrity hide away. I was talking to the owner, and since he delivers so often to ""The David Letterman Show"", he gets a lot of stars that come in wanting to eat his pizza. The other day, I ran into John Travolta eating pizza there... I over heard John telling one of the workers that he loves the pizza there... So, great food, tons of ""entertainment"". Neighborhood Pizza 5/12/2004

Having lived on the next block from Ray's of 8th Avenue, I can attest that of all the pizza restaurants in the neighborhood, Ray's was the best all-round for pizza and service. Try the individual pizza with multiple toppings. The pizza maker never missed an order, and the pizza was always delivered hot to 888 8th Avenue in no time. Top honors! coming from texas and eating a bunch of pizzas ray's has what anyone could ask for. you go to ray's for a pie not for ambience. when i think of new york i think of ray's and so should everyone else. damn! i need a slice from ray's!...i'll be back soon!...keep the ready!...big_mike. sa tx.
