Best

Great experience... I got all of my question answered. Explained my condition with great detail. Discussed my options thoroughly. Not to mention I'm 100% better.

Worst

Dr. Schulz is AWFUL! Lack of concern for THE PATIENT! 6/1/2013

Let me first say myself and both of my children have been seen at this practice over the past year and although I'm not ecstatic about this practice and would hesitate to recommend them because they lack bedside manner, they have been accurate with treatments and we have not had to return, so I would tolerate them EXCEPT, I had the most DEPLORABLE EXPERIENCE WITH DR. SCHULTZ BEING THE ON CALL PROVIDER YESTERDAY AT 4:45-545 PM!!! I am a health care professional myself and I have rarely seen such unprofessionalism and lack of concern for patient care when speaking directly with the patient EVER!! I called because a my 21 month old daughter was diagnosed with mild eczema by Dr. Schultz and was prescribed a steroid cream. She has had a couple of outbreaks over the 6 months and the medicine always works. I tried to refill the prescription the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and was informed she had no more refills. They sent a fax request, and I tried to pick up the prescription yesterday (1 week later), the pharmacy never received a response. I called the on call service because my daughter now has an outbreak and is scratching constantly and even had a rash on her scalp. It took 2 pages and an hour later Dr. Schultz called back. Obviously irritated by my call, she repeatedly lectured me on how she should not be calling in a prescription because she had not seen my daughter in 6 months, and because of her age, and stated that I waited until late on a Friday to call. She repeatedly said she'd do me a favor, save me an ER visit, but she was going to document it in their records, that this was a 1 TIME refill only and she would never do this again. I told her she didn't have to do it now if she didn't feel comfortable. But she repeated this lecture at least 3 times BEFORE SHE EVER ASKED WHAT MY DAUGHTER'S SYMPTOMS WERE. I was very upset and after she finished her lecturesss, I informed her the reason I called late on a Friday was because I went to pick up her prescription and they had not responded from a week ago more

very disappointing 4/16/2013

I visited Family Dermatology with my 12 year old. The doctor came in 35 minutes late, no apology, no thank you for waiting. The assistant that walked in with her didn't even find it necessary to say hello and seemed ready to go home. Dr. Shultz, I think was her name, gave some info but very impersonal, and I didn't feel she cared about the issue we were there for or the questions I was asking her. She too seemed ready to go home for the day. It seems that in an economic time that many businesses are struggling, and realizing people have many choices, but chose you, offices would do more to show patients that they appreciate the business. My this office doesn't need the business. The front desk was fine, and the nurse that took us back was great. Will not be back. more

Familly Derm Hazelton PA 4/18/2012

The over all process was rushed by the doctor.(dont remember her name). I could sense that she was waiting on multiple people. She would leave serveral times to wait on other people (or what ever she was doing) and dint give me the time of day in sense. It was a 3 cuts and out. Racked me 600 witch i had to pay half for the deductble. I asked if it was going to cost alot, she said it would be much and the insurance would cover it. I dont recommend this place and neither would the people that work there!!!! more

Horrible. 8/30/2011

The people there were absolutely horrible, after the first five minutes of being in that office I wanted to bolt. From a frantic lady insisting that her son must be seen at that exact moment, (even though my appointment was before hers) and they let her go!, to the aggressive un-friendly attitude of the nurses, it was an over-all "bad bedside manner". They are obviously getting paid by Accutane to shove their product down customers' throats, not keeping in mind the danger of this drug. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not even a dog more

Female Dr's unprofessional comment 3/28/2011

Front desk staff very friendly, but the female doctor who saw my child made an inappropriate and unprofessional comment to my family scenario which had nothing to do with my visit. I seeked a second opinion with another dermatologist (family & child friendly)....MUCH BETTER!!!! more

Outstanding care by Dr. Schulz-Butulis 4/13/2010

I saw Dr. Schulz-Butulis for a nodule on my hand that was bleeding. It was in a tricky spot near my fingernail but she removed it quickly the same day without making me come back for another visit. She and the entire office staff were great. more

Don't use the female doctor! 3/2/2010

I forgot her name (Dr. Schultz?) but she was too insensitive to my child's needs. She was very cold and unsympathetic (young too). My child was screaming during a freezing procedure and all she could say was "I never see kids do this". I would not go back to her again. I heard the male doctor (older too) is much better. more

Over charging 10/6/2009

I went in last month for three problems with my skin. They removed a spot from my leg, then I asked that they take care of two other small problems. They charged me a $20 extra fee for these last two small problems as they were considered cosmetic. The nurse spent about 3 or 4 minutes total on this. I feel that being a dermatologist you are going to be asked to do some strictly cosmetic work. I was already paying a large co-pay to see a specialist and my insurance company pays even more. It seems greedy to tag an extra fee onto an appointment. Maybe if someone wanted multiple problems looked at, but not for four more minutes of your time. more

Family Dermatology - Dr. Shultz 4/14/2009

I was very disapointed with the services of Dr. Shultz at Family Dermatology. I felt rushed and I do not think she took the time to answer all of my questions. I would not recommend her. However, the nursing staff was very pleasant. I particularly liked Jeanine(I think) who was the Registered Nurse I saw. more

Love it! 8/21/2005

I love this friendly inviremont! Plus the fact that my pimples are gone. The Doctor here (sorry but I don't remember his name!) is a real proffesional who is so great. The doc prescribes the right stuff for me that will work and not be one of those products that work but over drys my skin. more

excellent dermatologist 6/30/2005

I have been completely satisfied with the services of Ron Bean at Family Dermatology, which is located off of Glenwood Avenue. Appointments are always punctual, and the staff is always friendly and professional. Never have I had any trouble scheduling or changing appointments. Mr. Bean, a physician's assistant, is down to earth and patient when explaining medical terminology and treatment regimens. He has done great things for my skin! more
