I've been a customer of North Portland Optical for a couple of years now. I like the staff and have had good service in the past. This year, when I went to get some new frames and lenses, I ran into a bunch of trouble. First, I was told I needed an eye exam even though my Rx was still valid. Upon arrival and wasting of an hour of my time, the doc said that my prescription was fine for another year. I picked some pricey frames and they sent them to the lab. When the frames came back, they were scratched up, and the wrong type of lenses were in them. I decided to go elsewhere and asked for a refund. The refund took forever to get--it had to be processed by Eye Health's main office. I prefer working with an independant optician--not Eye Health NW.
Cons: new ownership hurt service. screwed up order, and still haven't got a refund
