Very rude receptionists & no driers! 5/14/2008

The owner and also Brianna are so polite & courteous that I feel bad not giving them another try. And so were the ladies that did my facial, massage & pedicures. The receptionists, on the other hand need Esthetique etiquette 101 and follow their colleagues.\r \r The first receptionist I met was very cold - no smile - bossy, nun-like young lady who looks like she should be a prison guard! But, since the service was excellent, I didn't care and decided to give them another chance, but the next receptionist was worse! Busy chatting with her friend and didn't think to acknowledge me immediately when I came to PAY, hello?! I'm a paying customer! I felt l was interrupting. \r \r I pay for my services, so deliver???? \r \r Then she charges my card after mumbling the total....but doesn't bother telling me beforehand that they can't add gratuity. Most salons & others usually ask if you'd like to add gratuity, so I assumed I could add it on myself. Not only that - she was so rude about it & brushed me more

The staff is talented, professional and courteous; they go out of their way to make the clients feel at home. Facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, waxing, sunless tanning--Esthetique does it all and does it well! There is no reason to go anywhere else. Terrible experience 10/1/2006

I had a glycolic facial the other day at this spa. Immediately when she applied the glycolic I told her it felt like my skin was burning off and her reply, OK I am just going to keep it on another minute. Not only did my skin feel like it was going to burn off she dripped the glycolic into my eyes, running over my eyelids. My facial was supposed to be only an hour but I was in her room for 2hrs, which led me to believe she saw some signs of my skin being burnt from the solution and thought by giving me a longer facial the irritation might go away however it just got worse. I went home and saw my sister who manages a day spa, her reply..what the hell did they do to your face....As the night went on my skin got worse and worse, it was red and raw. When I woke up the next morning my skin was hard and scabbed and I could barely open my eyes since my eyelids had been burnt as well from the solution dripping into my eyes...I will never return to this spa and I will tell everyone I know about more

they did my nails the day before along with my mom and sisters and the day of our wedding, they did our makeup. sonya is excellent with both skills and their relaxing enviornment made bridal preparations stress free. very high end and balanced decor which adds to their relaxing spa enviornment. After visiting many spas in our area, I had the good fortune to have my nails done at Esthetique. I was greeted by a friendly and attractive receptionist, who offered me a cup of tea while I waited . My scheduled visit was with the owner, who not only did a great job on my nails, but also recommended that I return to a plain manicure and let my nails grow. I decided to give it a try. My nails are now healthier and they look terrific. Since then, I have used a variety of services and have always been quite pleased with the results. The shop is a friendly place, the staff is very skilled and I enjoy that the merchandise is constantly being rotated. (There are many different products, including jewelry, clothing and beauty products available.) I feel that the prices are reasonable and well worth the experience. Jill Johnson runs the finest spa. She and her staff make you want to be as beautiful as they are. The spa is an oasis, inviting and relaxing. No one in CT should miss this spot! more
