Empire coffee, as the title states has been brewing and selling coffee in Hell's Kitchen since 1908. Walk into the store and your senses are filled with the aroma of whole beans from around the globe roasted to their perfect styles. Boxes of tea and tea pts, coffee pots and accesories fill the shelves above and beyond the burlap sacks of Hawaiian Kona, City Roast Espresso, Italian and Jamaican Blue. Opposite, sweets to round the perfect brew. Beans that are not over roasted coffee that tastes just a good cold as hot, and under a buck for a small cup. The staff is lively, personable and very knowledgable regarding the coffee and teas. Buy a cup, and sink into the comfy couch, from whence you will be loathe to move from. No Internet here. newspapers and a bit of conversation, only.
One cup of coffee or tea here, and that chain will be but an over roasted memory.
