Anything you want to eat 9/8/2005

Well almost anything and everything. Emerybille Public Market is one of the places to go if your uncertain of what to eat for lunch or dinner. They have a variety of ethnic foods for you to choose from. I've tried they're Chinese, Korean, Thai, Indian, Italian, Mexican, and even there cheese steak sandwhich place. I've gone here a hundred times even just to get some sorbet ice cream. I shoot pool next door at the Broken Rack so this is really convenient for me. more

lots of selection, okay food 8/19/2005

the emeryville public market is a good place to go to if you aren't quite sure what you want. it's a collection of a lot of fast food shops, with a focus on ethnic food. it's good when you are in a big group and can't decide what you want because everyone can go someplace different and then meet up at the tables set up all around the area. but it's still fast food, so it's only so-so in quality, and i find it a little pricey for fast food. more

Great food court! 8/12/2005

The public market in Emeryville is a great place to grab a quick lunch. They have a wide variety of food - sandwiches, italian, indian, thai, afghan, chinese, vietnamese, japanese etc...you name it and they got it!! You'll never get tired of the place! You can have great food for under $7. You can either get your food to go or have it right there - they have enough place to sit down...of course it gets pretty crowded around lunch time, but you can still find a place if you wait a few minutes. Great market! more

Ethnic worlds Collide 6/25/2005

The highlight of the Emeryville Public Market is its giant "food court" type area, which specializes in ethnic foods. There are many different food counters (each is a separate business). Each member of the family can pick their favorite; each of you can eat food from a different country all at the same meal. Overhead you will find many international flags displayed. One of the businesses is a salad bar (you make your salad and pay by weight) for the more health-conscious. This is NOT a fine dining experience, but its a fun place to eat because of the variety. You take your tray and find a seat - just like you might in a mall food court. The chairs are those white plastic lawn-furniture types and the tables can be dirty at times. When it is busy you will probably have to share a table with strangers (each dining group will stick to its own end of the table). The food is not exactly cheap, considering the budget-style atmosphere of the place but it IS reasonably priced and a decent value. (Similar price or slightly more expensive than a typical fast-food meal.) more
