Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa

My search for a bikini wax that wouldn't kill me brought me downtown Minneapolis to Marie at Elizabeth Arden's Red Door Salon. When I found out that she doesn't use hard wax I was very skeptical, but a few calls around the city revealed that hard wax is hard to come by. I was left with no choice. Marie was quick and gentle and I almost could not believe how little the process hurt. Normally a bikini wax elicits tears and often times screaming, but Marie's technique and calming nature left me free from pain and hair for more than 2 weeks. more

Though the beauty services at this spa are truly lacking, the massage's at the Red Door Spa are amazing. Some of the best I've had. I had the aromatherapy 90 minute massage at this salon, and the massage therapist was wonderful!! She mixed a blend of essential oils just to my specifications, and was not overly chatty. She used strong force when needed and was gentle in more tender spots, which displayed a knowledge of her clientielle and profession. I've had manicures & hair color services at this salon, and I must say I was not impressed. The manicure was rushed, not properly executed, I was charged for a premier service, when what I received clearly wasn't. The manicurist didn't seem to know what she was doing, and I wondered if she was filling in for someone or what? The hair coloring services were lackluster, though reasonably priced. All in all, go there for the massages, and skip the rest. But do give the waiting room, complete with ivory leather sectional & faux fur throw a try, as it is relaxing pre & post massage. more

Red Door has a wide variety of services they offer. The atmosphere is very relaxing. They do a great job of making you feel as though you are in a very relaxing place and you are the most special person in the world. The hot stone massages are wonderful! The massage therapists there are very friendly and don't try to talk the entire time they are working. It is a great environment! more
