Horrible Food / Decent Drinks 2/3/2003

Perhaps the WORST food I have ever had!!! Everything from the bread, soups, salads, entrees and desserts was absolutely horrible. Some of the beers were quite tasty, while others were very average. I recommend the Pilsner, ESB, and Dopplebock. This is a very attractive restaurant/bar. I just wish that the food could live up to the ambiance. I suggest having some drinks and watching all of the pretty people. DO NOT EAT! Food and Drinks are one category in the rating system. I gave it a one becuase the food is so bad that it can't make up for the reasonalbe drinks! Pros: beautiful bar, sports on tv, friendly bartenders Cons: horrible food, horrible food, horrible food more

Great Food & Atmosphere 1/7/2003

Great food. My picks would be the pasta, salads. Meatloaf is excellant but it may be a special. great palce in the summer to sit outside. more

Great Food! 1/2/2003

Not sure about the other reviews that rate the food as awful but I had a fine dining experience on New Year's Eve! The beer was great, the food was great, the atmosphere was great, the service was great! Pros: Food, Parking, Atmosphere Cons: A wee bit pricy more

Try elsewhere 12/18/2002

The food is terrible. The service is hit or miss. The beer can be very good, but you have to pick the right one. Don't drink the beer of the month. I suggest having a mixed drink, or ESB or Pilsner, and shooting pool on some of the coolest pool tables around. If you're not into pool, GO ELSEWHERE!!! This place is not worth your money for food and drinks. There are much cooler places to go just slightly north of the Elevator. Try the Arena District, Short North or German Village (slightly south). Pros: cool pool tables, mostly tasty beer, not too crowded Cons: awful food, overpriced, smoky bar more

DON'T EAT THE FOOD!!! 12/5/2002

The place is very good on the eyes. Take my advise and don't test your stomach. The food is awful (and over-priced). The beer is pretty good but it would be nice to have at least a small selection of bottled beers. The bartenders are friendly when they are not too busy. If you must eat, I suggest having a few beers and some chicken wings - about the only thing they can't mess up. I guarantee you can find better places to eat and drink in Columbus. Pros: good beer, comfortable bar, pool tables Cons: horrible food, over-priced more

EXCELLENT DRINKS ??? FOOD 11/15/2002

I have only gone to the Elevator Brewery once, however, EVERY drink I bought there was better than the SAME drink ANYWHERE else I have gone. Pros: Excellent Drinks, Great Atmosphere, Wonderful Service Cons: Parking is Diff., Food is Pricey more

Gotta get the Pasta 10/18/2002

This restaurant is really good. Its a good gathering place with friends. For appetizers the Pot stickers are wonderful. Most of the Pasta Dishes are fantastic a must order. They have great desserts also. Our waiter was very good. We will go back again because of the food and service. Pros: Good Food Cons: Sometimes crowded more

What were they smoking? 9/21/2002

I'm not sure what the other reviewers were smoking, but it certainly wasn't the cigars at the elevator. We found the food to be fantastic. Try the "Stone Rock Filet", a dish which allows YOU to roast your steak (or fish) to perfection, if you're in the mood for something new. In addition, the wine selection was excellent (we recommend the Mendocino Syrah). The service was quick and courteous. The stained glass, classic decor and paintings hung throughout the restaurant made conversation interesting before and during dinner. In short, a great place to eat. Pros: imaginative menu, free parking, unique atmosphere Cons: a bit expensive more

Great food and service 8/12/2002

The food was excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. I will definitely return and would recommend this resturant to friends. more

Lucky to Have This! 6/20/2002

This is a great place to stop in the Brewery/Arena District of downtown Columbus before a hockey game or a night at the symphony. The food is slightly over priced but very good. The decor is beautiful, with definite art-deco surroundings and blue hues everywhere. Pros: Beer selection, Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Bad Bartending 5/31/2002

Nice atmosphere and good beer. However, the service at the bar was slow and the bartenders (if that's what you could call these eighth grade dropouts) were extremely rude. This probaby explains why such a nice place was almost empty on a Friday night. I probably won't come back. Pros: Good beer, Nice atmosphere, Not crowded Cons: Slow service, Rude bartenders more
