fun dance club 12/29/2005

I've seen some amazing DJs here, and I really like the space, but it's expensive to get in and expensive to drink. A/C helps. more

Friday Night Fun 7/27/2005

If you're into techno and electronic music, two-storey Element is definitely the place to be, especially on Friday nights. They have a special partnership with USC events (United States of Conciousness) that brings the absolute top talent in the world to Seattle on Friday nights. They've had Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Bad Boy Bill, and Deep Dish just to name a few. If you know the big names in electronic music, you know that Element is where you go to see them. In the negative column the place can get really packed when they have big names, it only holds about 1000 people. It can also be incredibly smokey. The drinks are pricey, covers are high, but the people are hot and the bartenders are talented. more

Editorial

  • The Scene
From the line of young, good-looking scenesters corralled outside behind a velvet rope, it's clear this club aspires to a sleek, big-city style. Inside the dance floors pulse with heavy beats laid down by resident and celebrity DJs. An enforced dress code filters out grungy jeans and T-shirts in favor of the fashionable.

    The Draw
The main attraction is two dance areas, swirling with lights and bodies, and pounding with music ranging from electronica to R&B to house. The already chic club turns up the luxury in its VIP lounge, which has an all-white motif from its couches to its colorless cranberry juice. Most of the crowd is fueled by Red Bull and vodka, but the bar mixes more sophisticated cocktails such as the Lavender (Bombay Sapphire, Hanger One Citron, blue curacao, and grenadine). During happy hour, the club serves noshes and reasonably priced entrees, including cilantro baked cod to chipotle pork chops.
