Great food! 2/27/2012

I hadn't been there in years, but went over the weekend and the food was awesome. The Enchiladas Del Mar are the best I've had anywhere. I'm not sure why Citysearch shows this location as closed. The Round Rock location closed, but this one is still open. more

Great Family Fun 11/5/2009

My family is huge, we roll in there with like four adults and six kids (6 to almost 2 years of age). We have never had to wait for long and the kids love to bum rush the toys they have for them. Pros: They have great food and toys for the kids as well! more

Great drinks specials on thursdays and Good food 12/15/2008

I've been going here for a while now and it just seems to keep getting better and better. They have great drink specials on thursdays 99 cent margaritas. The food is amazing and they seat you very quickly I have never had to wait to be seated. The staff is cool Pros: great food and drink specials Cons: none that i can think of more

We Love Far WEST!!! 9/10/2008

My boyfriend and I always choose to go to the far west location of el arroyo because the atmosphere is very casual and laid-back and the staff is always friendly! I have never been when a manager didn't stop by my table to make sure everything was perfect. They remember our names, the food is great, and we couldn't ask for better service! Not to mention the food is cheap but still great! Pros: Great Service, Great Food! Cons: Parkin is sometimes an issue more

Great food AND Service 9/4/2008

For all of you who are writing bad reviews, I can't even imagine why you would. I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant and didn't experience anything negative in the least bit. My food was great, as was my wife and kids'. Our service was awesome and everything went very smoothly (which never happens for me when I take my kids out). Pros: Good food and service! more

Dissapointing food, good drinks 10/4/2007

I have been to the downtown location of El Arroyo and always had good experiences. I went to the Far West location yesterday and the food was terrible. I had the beef fajitas. The tortillas were stale and the beef was very dry. My boyfriend had the tortilla soup and fish tacos. I tried the soup and it was very bland. The fish in the tacos was flavorless and tasted even worse with the addition of a stale tortilla. On the upside, my strawberry swirl margarita was delicious. Pros: margaritas Cons: bad food more

YOUR MISSIN OUT 10/9/2006

are you kidding me, this place is a hiddin gem....fantastic drink specials (cant beat dollar margaritas on thursdays)...the staff was super friendly and i fealt like they knew me already....although i was primarily there for work, i had a great time....they had wireless internet so i got even more done and still had time to watch the games....i definitaly recommend this place. Pros: service, food Cons: hard to see from road more

Very bad food 9/13/2006

I was invited out to eat at El Arroyo. At the time I was pretty new to Austin, so I gave it a shot. The food is horrible and the beans taste canned. The only thing it has going for it are the cheap prices and dirt cheap alcohol. Keeps the college crowd around. Pros: cheap Cons: horrible food more

Very Satisfied 7/25/2006

Recently a large group(20+) of my friends and I visited El Arroyo. It was such a pleasant experience, we are planning to make it a weekly venture. The drinks were cold, food was excellent and the service was amazing. Not many restaurants can accommodate such a large party with such great service and the fact that we gave them no notice we were coming in makes it even more outstanding. more

Food and Service a Bust! 1/15/2006

We came here with high hopes and left feeling very disappointed. Our waiter was awful -- it took us about 15 minutes and a bowl of tortillas chips to even receive water. The food was low quality and the portions were small. My husband didn't even receive the correct food. My choice, Chicken Burrito, was listed as a ""Chef's Favorite"" on the menu and it was glorified slop. We will not be returning and would advise anyone looking for good tex-mex to go somewhere else. more

Very hospitable 1/15/2006

El Arroyo agreed to be our location for our networking function. They have been extremely hospitable, the price is very reasonable, and the food is great. A++++ Pros: Value, Food, Fun Ambience more

visiting from houston 9/22/2005

we ate at this restaurant based on the citysearch rating of 8.9...needless to say we had a bad experience. the waiter was non existent. the food quantity was pathetic. the margarita's were weak. we had two parties in our party of 8 order fajitas for two...although the price was low, the quantity was VERY low. i had 8 slim pieces of fajita meat w/ my meal. we did complain and they brought out more meat. we couldn't believe that they expected us to eat such a small amount of food...the manager was understanding though. i wouldn't recommend this restaurant to people though. Pros: cheap Cons: cheap more

new patio 2/1/2005

Their new patio is awesome. Springtime will be great having margaritas under the stars. We go every Thursday for .99 Margaritas. Can't beat it. more

Good Value, Good Food 7/15/2004

I came during the early afternoon and the service was fast and polite. One of my friends and I had the enchiladas poblanas. They were great and the portions were huge. My other friend had the steak burrito dinner and liked it quite a bit. I definitely recommend this place. Pros: Good Food, Good Service, Sizable Portions more

Not my choice for TexMex 2/15/2003

My experience would have been MUCH more pleasant except the bar allows smoking. All that divides the bar and the restaurant is a 3/4 height wall. I don't care if you smoke, but it's really gross when I'm eating! The food at best was mediocre. I won't return. Pros: Good Parking, Good location Cons: SMOKING IN BAR! more

Great deal for a great meal! 1/11/2003

Muy delicioso! Try the queso mixo appetizer- So good!! Margarita Martini was very popular too! more

Quantity not Quality 1/3/2003

A good overall choice for the dollor. The wait is short and the salsa is decent. They give you plenty of food (multiple plates), but the quality of the meat is very low. This place is also cheap, so you do get what you pay for. A diffenent quantity not quality place. more

Check Plus 9/13/2002

I came here on a Friday night with my family. The wait was not too bad, esp. since you can have drinks in the bar. Once seated, the service was good, not spectacular. But given that it was Friday night, it was understandable. Our food came out very quickly and was exactly what we wanted. I recommend the Spinach Queso and the Mixed Fajitas. If you are looking for margaritas, this is the place. They have just about every flavor you can think of. more
