Overcharged 4/12/2014

I first took my van and saved $300 vs dealer estimate. Two months later, my radiator had to be replaced on my other car. I went back to E.F.I. and paid $400 parts and labor (new radiator). Was happy! A week later my check engine light turned on so I went back to them and was charged over $900 of which parts was $179. I'm no mechanic but I know that it doesn't take 10 hours to replace alternator, air filter, spark plugs, and reset PMI. Need less to say, I will never go back to them and I would not recommend them to anyone at all. If you dare, get a written estimate that clearly spells out parts, labor, and estimated time for repair. Very disappointed that they would not negotiate on the $800 labor charge and now there's a strange grinding sound that it didn't have before. more

Great Service--Great Attitude 1/9/2012

I've been to EFI several times and find pricing to be within the industry standard. It's their great service and willing to stay open late to get the job done that impresses me and they will even drive you home and pick you up if you live within 5 miles. I highly recommend this service center. Steve G. 77040 more

Unfortunately Unethical 1/6/2011

My car broke down on 290W in the middle of a thunderstorm and the nearest automotive shop was EFI. We left it there to be worked on the next day. I must say, that night the mechanics were very helpful and wonderful. Certainly, they fixed the problem at hand (a cracked reservoir). However, upon driving the car I noticed a whistling noise coming from my belts. I asked them what happened to my car, as the sound had not existed before that time. They denied any responsibility and told me I would have to pay $180 to get my belt tensioner and pulley replaced. Unfortunately for them I endeavored to find out what happened and discovered that a) they spilt coolant on my belt and it needed to simply be lubricated and b) they loosened my tensioner bolt to make it look wobbly. I tightened the bolt and took the car to my mechanic at home to get some lubricant on it. Unethical practices make for bad business. Plus, they charged me 3 hours labor ($150) to replace a reservoir. I've had this work done before in one hour, with an evacuation re-fill and full system check. Not recommended. more

My truck broke down on a thursday. They got it right in the next morning and had it finished that evening. They even fixed the sagging hinges on my drivers door. Great service, and a job well done. Very professional. more
