We have four children. We have been customers of Eduardo's for years. Yes, Edwardo is straight forward and very to the point. He and his family are some of the sweetist people ...

These guys TAKE your money!!!! 11/23/2011

The customer service here is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!! I went in to pick up my suit i need for this Saturday and saw that the bill was more than what i was told the first time. SO because of asking a question the old fart started yelling and telling me that there is a 10 dollar rush fee for not ordering the suit within a 10 day time period before hand. I asked the owner "how the hell i would know to order the suit before hand if i never been to his store before??? He said " i dont wanna fight!" you know cause its thanksgiving!) He then told his employee to put the suit back if i didn't want it!! and i told him i didn't and that i wanted my deposit back!! He told me "Your not getting anything back!!!!! then got in my face and said," WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO!! as he wanted things to get physical. This guy is an idiot for sure! I called the cops and they told me this was a civil matter. Id really like to sue and get my money back. Its really not about the 25 bucks, its about how he handled himself while i was there and how i was treated. But hey what would you do with $25? Money is money and its my money, and I was told it was a deposit and would get it back when i returned the suit. Please email me if anyone wants to see what we can do about this. This cannot keep happening to people! email me at jesusomartapia1@gmail dot com more

Worse Place/ Ripped Off Money 10/3/2011

WORSE PLACE TO SHOP AT! I bought 2 quince dresses & spent over $1000 and they mess up the order and REFUSED to fix it. When we were tryin dresses on for my sisters both had jackets. We came back a second time to take a 2nd look & once again the dresses had the jackets. Now we order them both & go to pick it up and one of them is missing a jacket..they tell me the dress never came with one. I went in circle with those ppl jus to fight with the RUDE owner who start cusing & mumbling thinks in spanish sayin that i didnt know nothing...i said well even if there was a mistake u should give me a jacket & he yanks some random jacket throws it on a mannequin & says look it has a jacket mockin me. Of course he could be rude since i had already paid a 1000 deposit. I said give me my money back since i didnt get the dress i ordered & he took off. This is the worse customer service EVER. And i should have known better cuz when we 1st start lookin the 1st sales rep offered to take $100 off since we were buyin 2 quince dresses & when i went back to purchase them they had said no that was only if u bought them there & then...what does a few hours difference make when they are making $1500 off 2 dresses never mind that we were going to get the courts dresses from their to but forget that...a placed we discovered a little to late called Bridals & quinceras (off of 410 & ingram) is much nicer & reasonable. more

Worst tuxedo/bridal/dress shops ever!!! 5/9/2011

I know that I am not the only one to have an excruciatingly horrid experience at Eduardo's but I must try to help someone from making the mistake of walking into this place to rent a tuxedo or buy a wedding/ bridesmaid's dress! It started with the older man who stands behind the counter at the San Pedro location... I walked in to the store and there was no acknoledgement what so ever which is not good for business but I let it fly. After I asked for help he asked in the following words, "Do you need anything?" He then proceeded to ask, " Are you here for a wedding dress or bridesmaid's dress?" I was furious and I hadn't even been there for five minutes. When I called to check what time their hours of opperation the same man hung up on me before I could ask my next question. After having that aweful experience at the San Pedro location I figured I would try my luck at the Military location. It was the first experience TIMES TEN!!! I called in advanced to make sure that I could return the tuxedo my boyfriend rented to that store and when I got there the woman who runs the front counter there had the audacity to tell me that she couldn't return my deposit because I rented the tuxedo at a different location and proceeded with, "If [I] didn't like it to take it to the San Pedro location." It was the first and last time I will ever do business with them!!! more

LOW CLASS UNEDUCTAED OWNER 4/5/2011

Eduardo needs to go on ritalin. He went all psycho just because we asked about the pricing for my dress. He said you want the DRESS OR NOT!! I’LL TELL THEM NOT TO BRING IT OUT TO YOU. YOU HAVE TOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!!!! He threw the dress at my Mom and had no reason be act like an untamed animal. He deserves to be sued, but I doubt this place makes money, maybe that’s why he’s cranky ol fart. This man is chemically imbalanced and should stay away from people. He knows nothing about business. I would never go back and tell anyone not to go to this boot leg place. You would think he would be more professional and lead by example. He needs to retire if he’s going to treat his customers like crap. He was rude when I asked if my dress had some in. He said ELLEN WILL CALL YOU and then hung up. Come to find out no one called me and my dress had been there a week and I didn’t even know it. This place is a low class operation. more

Nuke This Joint! 12/7/2010

Our business with this merchant has been the WORST customer service experience ever. Even as a last, the world is coming to an end resort, take your money and your time and go anywhere but here. I do need to mention Ellen was the only bright spot on an otherwise dismal, vomit invoking experience. What would you think of an employee (I think his name is Frank) who got in your face, pointed both fingers at you and stated "If you're looking for trouble, you've found it right here." all because you were trying to find out his name so you could complain to the manager? Or other employees who refused to get involved and would rather walk away? Or your spouse being told over the phone how she had better not come into the store because he (Frank?) does not want a confrontation and then hangs up? Or how hard it is to write a review this bad without filling it with expletives? Folks, catch the Bubonic Plague and spread it to you entire family before you go to this store. more

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! 8/11/2010

I myself had the pleasure of speaking to this unbelievably rude person. Unfortunately, I have allowed my daughter to participate in her friend's quince later this year. Reading all of these frightening comments has made me nervous for my daughter's friend. What can all of us do to make our voice heard? SOMETHING DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE DONE! more

HORRIBLE, JUST HORRIBLE 7/16/2010

My boys were standing in a debut for my young cousin. My husband takes both my boys to pick up their tux's from the shop. Upon arrival, they are handed the tux's and are told to go to the registar to pay for the remaining bill. My husband responds to them that they should try on their tux's for fitting. He is told by two seperate females that "they don't need to try them on, that is why they take measurements", my husband is in shock, yet proceeds to pay for the tux's. When I here of this, I contacted them only to be placed on hold several times. Upon speaking to my Aunt, who is suprised by this, she has told me that 2 of the girls and one of the escorts dress's/tux thus far have been HUGE and did not fit. I called them back to find out that I have til 5:30 to take them in incase it doesn't fit, this already an inconvenience to have to go back and it's already mid day! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE, PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. Cons: Don't use them at all!!! more

FIRST THEY OVERCHARGED MANY OF US. ME AND MY SISTER THEY OVER CHARGED BY $50. THE OWNER WAS A JERK EVERYONE THERE WAS SUPER RUDE... Why is Eduardos still in business???? 6/14/2010

I had the misfortune to go to this store to get my daughter's dress as part of the Court in a quincineira - this was not out of choice! In spite of measurements, the dress needed alteration. They wanted $45 up front for alterations over and above $119 for the dress. Dress never did fit and I asked for my money back so I could get it altered some place else. That started the drama!!! The owner, Eduardo, is the rudest bigot and chauvanistic person I have ever met. He obviously could not take a woman standing up to him. The seamstresses were equally rude and discourteous. Eduardo's attitude was "take it or leave it". I had to tell him to act his age and be respectful. My 15 year old daughter was shocked at this behavior and had to tell the owner not to talk to her mother in a disrespectful manner. After refusing to refund the alteration money, they finally agreed to alter it again - the host mother will now pick my daughter's dress. I will NEVER enter this store again and wonder why they are still in business. Am also filing a report with BBB, as besides being rude, racist and chauvanistic, they are out to con customers, and take their money for services not rendered. Pros: none that I could see Cons: rude, no courtesy, owner has no concept what customer servic more

Horrible Service, Rude to their customers 3/16/2010

ordered an organza cathedral length veil with white piping. I asked for it to be ready on a Friday, the day before my portraits would be taken. On Friday morning I got a call from one of the employees apologizing that she would not be able to complete my veil that day. When she unrolled the organza there wasn't enough to make it cathedral length. She would have to order more organza. She said I could go in and pick up my deposit. When I arrived a manager, whom I can't remember her name, said I couldn't get my refund back because it was on a contract. Funny, they can't make it by the day requested so isn't that breaking the contract? Needless to say things got ugly!! I began raising my voice and she threatened to call the cops. I told her that I would call the cops because it wasn't my fault her employee told me to come back for my refund. When I asked her to bring the employee out she said she left home sick. I asked her to address this issue with her employee and not make this my problem. Before I showed up for my refund, I had gone around town looking for another bridal place to make my veil at the last minute. Thanks to Mayfair Bridal they agreed and then allowed me to cancel my order when suddenly Eduardo's suddenly fabricated my veil. Yes it was beautiful and just as I asked but it was so painful getting what I ordered. I would have paid twice as much to someone else if I could get my money back and not give Eduardo's my business. The cops showed up and said I could take them to small claims court but since the veil was now ready to be picked up the cops could not force them to refund my money. I hate that store and will NEVER use them for anything!!!! I always tell this story to anyone who is getting married, having a debut or sweet sixteen. The management is awful and they only want your money, they DO NOT respect their customers!!!!! Don't use their service!!!!!! There are TONS of other choices and better people you can choose from. Pros: there are other people and businesses to choose from Cons: horrible service and rude management staff more

HORRIBLE OWNER 1/25/2010

My wedding is out of state, and I went today to look at bridesmaid dresses. I was scared to go in because it looked very run down and I'm being nice! I went in anyways and the owner stared at me and finally stood up and asked where the wedding was. - told him it was in Tennessee and he kept saying where? And I repeated it 5 times!! Then he said well you're not going to order the dresses here, so you should just go. I couldn't believe how rude he was and he wouldn't even let me look at the dresses!!! There are so many nice bridal stores in San Antonio, so go anywhere but here! more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER WITNESS AND EXPERIENCED 5/12/2009

This place is a scam. They draw you in by telling you they have the least expensive tuxedos but then they tack on other expenses. We recently rented a tuxedo from there and will never return. While my son was trying on his tuxedo a young black male arrived to pick up his tuxedo. The owner told him, "and don't drag your pants because if you get them dirty, you will have to pay full price!" This other customer in the store stated, "that was a such a inappropriate comment!" The owner didn't care. This other young man walked in and reminded the owner that he had already paid for two tuxedo's one that he already wore and returned and the other he was there to pick up that day. The owner told him that since he didn't have his receipt, he would have to pay the $81 and change. The poor young man needed his tuxedo so he paid! When I left I was told that when I brought my son's tuxedo back, I would receive a $25 deposit. Well I took it back and while I was there, the old man was arguing with another customer and told him if he didn't like it next time go to Al's. I turned in the tuxedo and inquired about going to the register to get my $25 and was told that I was not getting anything! He stated that I gave a down payment not a deposit, which was untrue for I had paid a down payment and a deposit on the same day! I left the store with nothing. When I went outside the gentleman that had returned his tuxedo was discouraging another customer from going in. I stood and listened and then provided my experience. While that was going on the owner came outside, yelled at me and cursed me out!!! I don't understand how these people manage to stay in business. LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, AVOID THE HARRASSMENT AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!! Pros: QUICK Cons: NOTHING more

I Will NOT Use Them, Based on 3Horrible Phone Calls 3/20/2009

I just got off the phone with someone at Eduardo's who needs some SERIOUS customer service training! I called about 5 stores in San Antonio and asked them to look up a bridesmaids dress. They politely did that for me. I haven't had luck finding it, so I called this place. Here's how the conversation went: Guy: Eduardo's Me: Hi, I'm trying to find a certain bridesmaids dress; if I give you the designer name and style number, can you tell me if you carry it? Guy: What?? Me: I was just wondering if I could give you the style number of a dress I'm trying to find. Can you look it up for me? Guy: Something about a style? What??!! Me: (Getting annoyed) Yes, I have a style number for a bridesmaids dress. Can you tell me if you carry it? Guy: (sounding irritated with me) Hold on I was on hold for about 4 minutes, and he never returned. I called back and asked him the same thing, in about 4 different ways, and he said that they DON'T do that. And that IF I GAVE HIM MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER he could. What kind of operation are you running? Before I could ask anymore questions, he HUNG UP ON ME. So I called back. I said "Sir, I just want you to know that I've called several other bridal stores today and they've all looked up the dress for me with no trouble at all. I don't understand why you can't do that, and you're losing my business today." Before I could do anything else, he said that I would have to come down there to actually find out if they carried whatever style I was looking for. Then he hung up on me again. I hope the people running this place realize they will not be able to keep business up with their terrible customer service. I realize the customer is NOT always right, but they do deserve common decency, and simple manners. That guy needs to go back to kindergarten to learn them. A place like this, where it's pretty obvious that they don't have any respect for customers, doesn't deserve to have your business either. Pros: None that I got the JOY of experiencing thanks to Mr. Rude Cons: total lack of respect for customers and their time more

Class Action Suit Well Deserving.......... 11/19/2008

How these people maintain their clientele is beyond me. They are VERY rude. I was told my wedding dress would be there in 4-6 wks. They called & told me it was there. I went to pick it up (unfortunately on Saturday) and was yelled and cursed at for having the audacity to want to pick up my dress on a weekend. Then found out that my dress wasn't even in and would not be in for another 4-6 wks. Meanwhile the 'gentleman' behind the counter was flailing his arms and cursing and yelling repeatedly. Any other communication with them resulted in yelling and hang ups on the phone. The long and short of it is, I'm out $1095.28 and never got that dress. And believe it or not my cc won't reverse the charges because the 'gentleman' says that it was there and I didn't pick it up. A blatant lie!! I encourage the lady's statement about the class action suit. I'm trying to decide what my next step will be. My email is TxFancy7 at aol dot com for anyone that would really like the truth about this store. BUYER BEWARE! more

AVOID THIS HORRIABLE BUSINESS!!!! 9/11/2008

I have rented a tuxedo and returned it on time. I was under the impression everything was okay. The next day I have an unauthorized charge on my credit card. I called and spoke with Frank (THE RUDE OLD MAN)to ask what the charge was for? He told me because the white pants were ruined and not re-rentable. I told him the pants were not damaged in any way they were just a little dirty from them touching the floor. He was very rude to me and hung up on me once I asked why I wasn?t told the same day I had dropped of tuxedo. I have called back several times to speak with MANAGER LAURA and he tells me she is not in then hangs up!! . I asked him when she will be in? He always tells me ?I don't know? and hangs up. This is not acceptable to run a business like this! I have also read reviews on line about Eduardo?s and most of the comments on there are awful versus good comments. I don?t seem to be the only person having problems with them. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!! THEY ARE THE MOST HORRIBALE BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW THEY STAY IN BUSINESS!!!! BE VERY CAREFUL THEY WILL USE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH OUT YOU EVEN KNOWING!!!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Nothing more

Avoid this STORE!!!!!!! 9/2/2008

Avoid this store if possible....The OLD MAN that treats people BAD.verbally assulted me infront of 14yearold girls. These girls went home in tears because of what they saw that afternoon. My daughter chose that location because she found a dress she liked I was against it but we couldn't find that dress anywhere else. The girls went for a fitting they told me the dresses would be in by the end of August,we got all the girls together for a last fitting.Well some of the dresses were to small (about 6 dresses) they started to accuse 14 yearolds that they had gain weight over the summer.I asked to speak to someone this rude old man came and started yelling at me pointing his fingure at me in front of these girls he would not let me explain to him he kicked us out of the store. When I arrived home,my husband being an attorney he said the girls and I had a class action law suit or I could file charges for verbally abusing these girls. So if you don't have to go there PLEASE DON'T.Do not put yourself in that position or any friends and family.I will never go there again. Pros: Parking Cons: RUDE........ more

Great Place - Great People 2/18/2008

We have four children. We have been customers of Eduardo's for years. Yes, Edwardo is straight forward and very to the point. He and his family are some of the sweetist people I have ever worked with. We have rented/bought all of our formal wear (proms, weddings, graduations, etc) from them over the years and have been more then satisfied. We have never experienced a problem with any transaction. They have always been more than accommodating. Pros: Great people Cons: None more

Worst Experience Ever 1/2/2008

This was absolutely the worst place ever. I just engaged and we called New Year's Day to go look at dresses. The owner answered and was rude right from the get go. He said they were open till 3 and when we asked him to look up a style number to see if they had some I wanted to try on that I found online, he said no, he didn't have time. Anyway, they said they carried the whole selection of Mary's dresses so we simply were going there just to try one on with means to buy somewhere else. So we drove an hour to get over there and arrived at 1:15pm and the doors were locked! We called and the owner answered and I told him we called earlier and he said that he would be open till 3pm. He proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and he said there was no one to help me. I told him I didn't need help picking out dresses, that I knew the style numbers and my maid of honor could help me get in them. He told me that they didn't know anything about dresses and that their sales ladies had already left. About this time, another man came to the door and we told him we called and they said they would be open, and he said hold on, he would be right back. While all this was happeneing, the owner hung up on me again. So I called back and told him I did not appreciate the way he treated us and this was BEFORE we ever went to buy or look at his dresses. It was absolutely the worst experience ever. I would never go there again and would hope no one else will. Planning a wedding should be fun and a wonderful experience. Needless to say, I went o Alfred Angelo after we left and bought the other dress I was deciding on. I just wonder what ever happened to good customer service and trying to make the customer happy. Eduardo's was simply awful. Pros: None Cons: Everything! more

Eduardo's Inc 8/26/2007

The service at this store was the WORST any one could imagine. Customer Service is not even a word in their vocab. The owner and sales people are rude, sarcastic and just plain nasty. When you first inquire about products they are welcoming, yet soon enough you find out they have given you partial information, they do not provide the service they first promised, they no longer have time to "deal with you", they act as if they are giving you free merchandise, they hang up on you when you call to inquire about a problem, they give out wrong merchandise and then tell you it's your fault that you are being so picky. Unless you want to deal with added stress by incompetent people, then don't use this company for dresses, tux, or anything else. Don't put yourself or members of your special function that are all paying good money through these headaches unless you do not care if they mistreat or lie to you, your family or friends. Even if you have to pay a little more money elsewhere, IT IS WELL WORTH IT then doing business with these people. Never again well we, any of our friends or family be using them for anything. Pros: Good parking Cons: rude, no customer service, sarcastic owner and sales people more

Surpised at amazing customer service 1/28/2007

I found the store through this site, and was almost scared after reading the horrible reviews. However, as soon as we arrived, a very kind salesperson offered to help. We told her our meager budget, and we were just looking, and she was still attentive. She then took us to the upstairs clearance sales racks, and after telling her a general idea of what I was looking for, she found the perfect dress. However, the zipper was halfway torn off. Even though it had been marked down from $250 to $65 already, she still gave it to the seamstresses who fixed the zipper and pressed the whole thing while we waited (about 15 minutes). The only downfall was that the shoes I purchased were worn out entirely after just one night, but they cost only $5.99, so it was almost to be expected. The store also offered gloves, artificial bouquets, tiaras, scepters, and many other items quinceanera related, many incredibly inexpensive, some more upscale. I loved it as a whole and would recommend it to anyone in need of formal attire, from outfitting a wedding to prom dresses. Pros: wide variety, great customer service, many inexpensive choices and markdowns Cons: some items of low quality more

Editorial
  • The Duds
The selection is extensive, and all gowns are carefully (if somewhat unromantically) covered in clear garment bags. The most expensive gowns are in the back and bargains can be found in front. Sizes range from 2 to 50, and brands tend toward those familiar from bridal magazines: Jessica McClintock and the like.

    The Service
Customer service is as matter of fact as the displays. Don't expect to be a pampered princess (or prince) here, but efficiency has its own merits. Outfit the entire wedding party: tuxedos are also available for sale and rent, and the bridesmaid gowns selection is fairly extensive. Eduardo's also specializes in gowns for quinceaneras. For over 20 years the store has outfitted women for debuts, formals and weddings.
