A friend of mine wanted to get her belly button pierced and asked if I'd go along. I wanted to go to the studio where I get all my tattoos, but she wanted to go to Edge, so I agreed. While we were there, I decided spur-of-the-moment to get my nipple pierces.
The piercer looked at it, chose the barbell size (I wanted it done with a ring, but he said it had to be done with a barbell), and got to work.
It seemed to be OK until about 4 or 5 hours later. At home that night, I noticed that my breast felt swollen. I just thought it was because of the piercing and figured it was no big deal. Well, two hours later, my breast was twice the size of the other one, and turning purple. I got freaked out and had my Mom take me back to Edge to see if they could do anything.
The piercer I had earlier had gone home, so another one looked at it. He said it was pierced way too far back on my nipple, almost in the areola, and that was causing my breast to turn purple and swell. He took it out and cleaned it, and told me how to take care of it so it would heal and not get infected. The he told me I could come back in 6 months and have it repierced. Yeah, like I'd go there again!
I will say, though, that they refunded the cost of the piercing, which was good.
Pros: Easy to get to, clean, gave refund after bad piercing
Cons: Unqualified piercer
