The Scene
This legendary resort was built by Morris Lapidus in 1956. It completed an extensive renovation just before the turn of the millennium, ensuring its 21st-century status as a luxury hotel and treasured landmark. The original terrazzo floors and marble-and-mahogany reception desk are intact from the days when celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor and Frank Sinatra lent luster to the surroundings. A welcome addition to the property is the colorful, oceanfront Aquatica Beach Bar and Grill, featuring an extensive tequila wet bar.
