It's a pleasure to walk into a barber shop to get a haircut or a shave (or -- both), and not have to worry if they will turn out ok. Because they always will. As you leave, take a look at yourself in the mirror -- you will be thrilled to see that you look much better than when you walked in. If only every place could be like that... more

I got a card in the mail yesterday telling me about the opening of a new location for Eddies Haircut and Shave. The card also featured that they would have a free sample of their product so i came in to check it out. I got a haircut and a shave deluxe and it was amazing! Tonight i used the product samples and they were amazing too. Can't wait for my next haircut and shave. more

I had a business meeting at the Cornell Weill Medical School and found this gem by searching on my phone. I walked in and after a short wait had a nice haircut and a straight razor shave on the back of my neck. The staff was very friendly and the price was fair. I will recommend to my friends who live in NY. more

A few weeks ago I decided to try out Eddie's on 68th street and learned that they were opening this new location. Yesterday I went in for a haircut and ended up getting a shave as well, and let me tell you it was a great experience and I was very relaxed. As I complemented them on the new location, I was asked by the receptionist if I was willing to share my experience on citysearch. Their service was spectacular, the staff is friendly, and I am glad I gave them a try! more

Look no further 4/14/2011

I came across Eddie's Haircut and Shave by chance one day on my way back from work. I had been looking for a new place to get a cut, and figured I would take a chance. That was four years ago and I have never looked back since. Eddie and his team of barbers are class acts. They are friendly, quick, and give a great haircut. If you want to treat yourself and really feel like a man, get yourself one of their famous straight razor shaves -- you won't regret it. The best part is, they do this all without being surly or pretentious -- unlike so many places in the city these days. If you're looking for a great cut in NYC at a fantastic price, this is the place to go. Anybody I've ever referred to this place has gotten hooked. more

Authentic Haircut Experience 2/3/2009

I've been going to Eddie's for over 10+ years and while the prices may have risen over the times, I feel the improved quality of service and overall haircut experience far exceeds and is well worth the cost. Since Eddie has taken over the shop, the new staff are friendly and talkative and keeping a good barber shop vibe/atmosphere. Adding to the old fashioned authentic clipping experience, each cut is followed up with fresh blade around the neck for a very fresh feeling; unlike those places that use buzzers. I get a shave every now and then when I want to treat myself (unfortunately a little less often these days...) and the straight razor shave is the tops...I have sensitive skin and they follow up with this block called Alum Block (I haven't been able to find in pharmacy yet) and leaves my skin with no irritation. Followed up with the hot towel, this place really takes the time to provide a quality haircut and barbershop feeling. A/A+ Pros: Comfortable chairs, great magazine collection, thurough service, no reservations Cons: Some of the fixtures are a bit dated, music doesn't match the place, no reservations more

A lucky find in the city 1/23/2009

I came across Eddie's by chance since I live more than 15 blocks away. This happened in mid-2007, and I always get back to Eddie's for my haircut--and I treat myself to a shave too. It doesn't matter which barber I get...they're all good. I'm from a much smaller town and was shocked when I got to New York by the haircut prices when I got here. I had been looking for a barber shop that DIDN'T charge New York prices....and that had the look and feel of an owner-operated place. I like the welcome I get at Eddie's, the great haircut and the low cost. I consider it one of my lucky finds. more

a shave above all. 1/15/2009

came in there for the first time this past monday. (1/12/09) and got a hair cut. while i was getting my hair cut i noticed the barber to my left was giving someone a shave, i had time to waste so i asked for one also. what a shave it was it wasn't my first straight razor shave but it was the best! clean, smooth and refreshing. the haircut was really good as well and it was a GREAT price. $23 dollars for the haircut and $23 for the shave. I'm definitely going back there. check it out. you wont be disappointed Pros: great barbers, quick and easy, just like you see in the movies Cons: there was a wait, they play 106.7 more

Excellent haircut, with friendly service and a great atmoshphere 1/6/2009

I just moved into the neighborhood and did a quick search on barber shops/ hair salons in the neighborhood. I saw Eddie's website on google and it looked like a good place to get a cut, so I tried it out. The service was great, the atmosphere was great (true barber shop feel), and most importantly, the haircut was great. To top it off the haircut, my neck was shaved with a straight razor blade, and then my face was washed with a hot towel. more

Best Haircut in the city 4/15/2008

I've been coming to this place since I can remember. I have always been treated well, everyone is nice in there. You get the most professional cuts. There is no barber shop that I would rather get my haircut at. I am comfortable with this place. It is a very homey feeling. Personally when I go there...I'm not just getting a haircut, i'm catching up on old times with my barber Eddie. To me nothing beats that. I've moved a couple of times and still come back. more

Specializing in hot towel shave. out of this world 12/12/2007

Fast and friendly service 8/25/2006

A friendly place to get a great haircut at a great price with minimal wait time too. They have four very experienced barbers who know what a guy wants in a good fair priced hair cut. I have been going there for 5 years myself. I hear they will also have a ""kids"" salon downstairs with all the amenities kids like and parents do too. Do make a visit soon and tell Eddie I said HELLO! more
