I have seen the water stored upstairs and ready to be used for making the pizza. They receive to truck loads a year from a spring in NY.

Eddie & Sams provides a refreshing change from the typical pathetic Florida Pizza joints. Unfortunately, unless you can get to its Downtown Tampa Location during the hours of 9-5...

These shops that claim they make their pizza or bagels with NY water is just bull I'Ve been a bagel baker 25 years 18 in NY 7 in Florida .if you know what you are doing you can make good bagels and good pizza and anything else you make with water. That""s like saying NY has better coffee because of the water too. It is all in peoples heads. more

The XXL Pizza Is 20"" Monster For Four 7/19/2010

Eddie and Sams New York Pizza is a plain downtown dive with a few outside seats and an unspectacular inside facility. When you see people pile into the place, you know it is the food.\r \r Thier stuffed crust is excellent and thier pizzas are fairly authentic: Neopolitan, SIcilian, and Primavera/ Their sausage was sliced Tampa-style so I guess they have been out of NYC for a time..\r \r A great option is the stuffed veggie pizza with sauteed spinach and brocolli. As for the 20"" giants - I'll wait until I have luinch with four hungry people. Pros: Wonderful stuffed pizza options, fast service Cons: Few outside tables and little atmosphere more

Water 6/6/2010

For the uneducated about water... you must not know much about beer either.. because where the water counts all the breweries built their plants.. just look at any Budwiser label and you'll find the best water... if you like the pizza in other joints don't post it here just shows you are not a true nyc pizza connoisseur. PS the secret is the water.. that's why the Kiser rolls don't compare to the rolls up north either... do you ever hear anyone say ""Buttered Roll and Coffee to go"" ... LOL Pros: good pizzza more

Yuck! 4/27/2010

I don't know about the rest of you but I went to visit my husband at work in Downtown tampa, he brought me to this Pizza place they go to on their lunch break.... let me tell you this tasted like frozen pizza... and not good frozen pizza. First of all they claim to use REAL NY WATER.... where do they get it.. from the Hudson River? Beside Water doesn't make the pizza... clearly, I just don't understand how some people love this pizza.. It really is just plain yucky. I will stick to a real NY Pizza place over in Carrolwood! Best NY style pizza in Tampa 12/28/2009

I'm from NY and I try different NY style pizza from Orlando to Miami Tampa and Jacksonville... This is the closest you get to New Yorks pizza ~~~~~You have to be from NY in oder for you to know what NY pizza taste like~~~ more

Eddie and Sams has the most authentic ny pizza around. It IS all about the water and any REAL new yorker knows this. They have everything including ,my favorite, white and Sicilian. Definately recommend more

This place is not good. Its not about the water.. because if that was the case you could not find any good pizza here! Seriously what do you do fly it in from the hudson? Sure! I can prove to everyone its not the water because there is good pizza in Florida.\r Try BEST NY PIZZA in Carrollwood. This place is the best! It's amazing and it really is true NY pizza.. not ""NY Style"" (which mean imatation) but true NY Pizza!\r \r You can visit their website which has all the informatiom you will need to experience the best! they say they use NY water, what a marketing hoax! ! water weighs too much to ship from NY. who would want to use nasty NY water anyway??? I would rather have clean bottled or filtered water. NY Water does not make the pizza taste good or bad. it is the ingredients. Think about it, how many bad pizza places are in NYC anyway?? right?? has nothing to do with the water.\r Anyway, i tried the food, survived, barely. felt nausea afterwards. place was so dirty, too. Much better places in tampa. i'll stick with Sally Oneils or NYPD Pizza. both are much better. NYC feel in downtown Tampa 6/30/2006

Growing up in the South and until I lived in Queens for 5 years I thought nothing could top Pizza Hut. How wrong! And when I moved back here I thought Id never get that one-of-a-kind New York slice without hoping a plane to the Big Apple. Until I found Eddie and Sams. Its the real deal. Get a slice or calzone, cram into the hot and loud place at lunch and youll swear youre on the Lower East side. That is until you try to hail a cab without making a phone call first. Skyscrapers on the wall 2/27/2006

Lots of pictures of New York City can be found at this pizza oasis in the middle of Downtown Tampa. It is for good reason. This pizza is as close to Midtown New York City as you can get. Transplanted folks from the Big Apple needing to rediscover their roots should head to Eddie & Sams. Don't know if it is true or not but I heard the quality is due to the fact that they import their water from NYC. People in NYC actually dring water from their faucets. Eddie and Sam's is by far the best pizza in Tampa Bay. I have been to a lot of pizza places in Tampa, and none of them come close to this place. I dare you to try this pizza and say it is not the best pizza in the Tampa Bay area and possible ever. Try it any way u want. Plus you can get 2 slices and a drink for $5. But dont stop at pizza. This place doesnt make anything that is not appealing to your tastebuds. I recommend the cheese steak, meatball, turkey club subs, Chicken Parm roll, Ziti, any pasta dish for that matter and fantasic wings too. My personal Fav is Brocolli on white sause pizza. They take brocolli saute in olive oil and garlic on a white sause pizza topped with moza cheese. Staff is friendly from head cook Josh, or Matt, Hank, Mike and guys behind the counter. Best Pizza in Town!!!! 5/31/2004

Eddie and Sam's is by far the best pizza I have tasted, I would say its as good or maybe better than alot of the pizza places in N.Y !!!! I love the atmosphere and the hustle and bustle of the place. I've never had a problem getting whatever I wanted (even chicken rolls) at anytime even after 7pm and now they are open on Saturdays aswell I take the kids, the service is great. My personal favorite is the tomato basil,mmmm! A must if you are in downtown tampa. Pros: Service, Quality, Ambience more

One of your favorite customers 5/25/2004

I live in Brandon. I visit Eddie's and Sam's at least once a week via the Selmon Expressway. This Pizza restaurant is by far the best I have ever tasted in Florida. I am originally from Philly with many relatives in NY. I realize the hours are not for everyone in Hillsborough County, but plan a day, take your friends, itis well worth it. The lunch specials are awesome. ""Hats off"" to you guys at Eddie's and Sam's. You have my business and I tell everyone to stop by and get a wonderful pizza !! The best pizza in town 5/12/2004

Eddie and Sams is a favorite spot for myself and my coworkers to visit any day of the week. I can honestly say that this is the closest pizza to a real New York pizza - just fabulous. If you can handle the orders taken quickly and yelled out, along with a hot restaurant with no air conditioning, it's well worth it in the end! Great food but no desire to work 9/9/2002

Eddie & Sams provides a refreshing change from the typical pathetic Florida Pizza joints. Unfortunately, unless you can get to its Downtown Tampa Location during the hours of 9-5 you will not be able to experience it. It seems that after 5 O'Clock the ovens are either broken or they are all out of the delicious chicken rolls. What irks me, is that they should simply whip up another chicken roll but they simply dont seem to care about the consumer.
