Econo Lube 'N Tune

I went in for an oil change. The key word being ""change"". They removed my oil, but did not but any oil back in. A couple of months later, I go to a different place for an oil change and they tell me that ""someone recently replaced your drain plug with a larger one. It has now stripped the threads in the hole in the oil drain pan"". Two different mechanics have told me that the pan needs to be replaced at a cost of $1000. Thanks a lot. AVOID THIS PLACE. more

I was charged for a timing belt replacement in March of 2007. When my car broke down in January of 2008 I had it towed to Goodyear Tire and Service off of FM 3040 in Lewisville. They inspected the car and told me that my timing belt broke and that it was the original belt installed by the manufacturer. I cannot believe that there are mechanics out there that still rip people off. I am requesting that I be reimbursed for the original charges as well as the current charges ( a total of aobut $1,100.00). I am awaiting their response. I will never go to an Econo Lube N Tube and I advise everyone else to do the same. The only way to keep underhanded mechanics like these out is to keep them out of business. I would not go to this place ever again. Save your money and go somewhere else !! I bought one of those $75 coupon cards with all sorts of discounts. Their prices are over inflated so the discounts don't really mean anything. They overcharged me by $145 compared to the dealership. I would not have realised this but I decided to do a little price comparison after the fact (what a lesson I learnt). When I went back to Econo Lube, I told them about the price and the reply was "" you should have gone there than"". End of Story. Next time I will do my homework. I later did some more homework and found that this place has a lot issues with unanswered complaints. Pros: They will do the job for an over inflated price Cons: The name does NOT reflect the price - Econo !!! more
