need to drink a LOT of Eau!!! 7/10/2004

i've been here twice this year looking for a low key, reasonably priced, and chill time. and both times i had a pretty great time - it's laid back, it's fun, and people party a storm in here when the place is packed. no to minimal jersey crowd - a purely new york crowd. young kids to mid-30s, very diverse, laid back, considerate (wait staff and crowd). ordered a pupu platter of their appetizers and it was VERY good. great hip hop, some raegae and current pop...could've stayed all night, it gets really good after 12. no lines, no door cover, just a good bar, good food, great music, cool crowd. tonite was really great - i will be back soon! Pros: inexpensive for a hot, place, hi class, fun, low key, everything Cons: , at bathroom, its new, clean, diverse,no cons more

so-so 1/13/2003

I went to Eau on Saturday night and had a very mediocre experience. The place is pretty small and the crowd is very average. The poor music selection prevented many people from dancing, causing the small strip near the bar to become excessively overcrowded. Also, for whatever reason the coat check was already full even though I got there at midnight so I had to hang on to my coat until space opened up. Altogether, not worth the $10 cover or any cover for that matter. Also, the bouncer was very rude. Pros: Decent decor Cons: Small space, Bad music, Rude bouncer more

Eau, no! 11/4/2002

A group of friends and I were out for a nice night on the town, with great interest in dancing to hip-hop. All was going well at Eau bar, the music, the drinks, the friends, until we tried to order a glass of tap water. They refused to serve us water, insiting that we purchase only the finest from Maine. Now @ $9 a drink the last thing I want to do is spend $6 on water. One might think that when a group of ten is ordering drinks they could at least by us a round of water that our taxes have already paid for. To top it off, adding insult to injury, the tap in the bathroom was on full blast. Until this bar lives up to its name or I am willing to drink out of the toilet, I will have to go elsewhere. more

H2Oh No! 11/4/2002

There is no water at Eau bar. How ironic. I was out with a large group of friends, ordering $9 drinks. One of us asked for a glass of tap water, and they flat out refused, telling us they could only serve us bottled water. The waitress copped an attitude, even though we were polite and it wasn't her policy. The amount of money we were putting into that place, the least they could do is give up a glass of water. Spend your money elsewhere more
