Our 19 year old cat had to be euthanized. My husband and I made an appointment for 6pm, supposedly the last appointment of the day, as we wanted our beloved cat's last hours to be peaceful and serene. They were anything but. Rather than telling us that the clinic had two very loud barking dogs and either keeping us in a room away from these dogs, or asking us to wait in our automobile while these dogs were bering treated, we were put in a room right next to them. We sat for over 25 minutes while the dogs were being treated and wildly barking and our 19 year old cat was scared witless, trying to get out of our arms and pleading with his eyes. We asked the receptionist why we had to wait in this room with the dogs barking and the cat shaking and she said that ""other people had appointments too."" The last vision we had of our cat was laying there with his wide eyes open after his first numbing shot. It was a very sad experience. more

Best Vet in RI!!! 8/6/2011

We are new to the area and recently started going to East Side Veterinary Clinic after asking around at the various dog parks. Our pets are our children so we are very picky about who they see. We are so glad we found this clinic. The staff is WONDERFUL and Dr. Breiding in particular has been so great with our 2 pups. Everyone is so patient and sweet to them even though they can be rather rambunctious. Dr. Breiding has always been very thoughtful and spends a lot of time with us. She has given us great advice and definitely doesn't push unnecessary tests as so many places do. WE LOVE DR. BREIDING AND EAST SIDE VET CLINIC!!!! We hope we never have to move so we can keep going here always! We highly recommend this spot for your ""babies""!!! more

Go elsewhere if you must Euthanize your pet 7/10/2011

I brought my 16 year old little dog to this clinic because he was so sick and dying. I knew he needed to be out of his suffering. Never once did he cry or wimper even though I could see he was in pain at home. I carried him in he was so thin and tired. When the vet came in she was rather heartless. She said we will give him a shot to tranquilize him then a second one to stop his heart. Then she gave him the first shot. He cried out in such excruitating pain I could not get that image out of my mind. Never in all the vet appoitments had I ever seen him react to a shot like that. That should never happen. No animal being euthanized should have that much pain subjected to them before their death. I had other animals euthanized and never had this expereince. It was horrifying. The worst last moments with my beloved dog are now agonizing to recall. I wanted my poor dog ito be at peace but I am so sorry I took him there. The experience could have been so so much better for him and for us. more

Dr Breiding is caring, friendly and honest 11/26/2009

Dr, Breiding is an honest, compassionate and friendly vet who will not try and oversell services or procedures just to leech more money out of concerned animal parents. That being said, East Side can be a little more expensive than other vets, but not substantially and the piece of mind is worth it. My dogs have been seeing Megan for years and I can say I truly trust her. She is also a fan of rescue dogs and bully breeds which is a personal plus in my book. Pros: Honest Cons: Pricey more

do not trust the east side vet with your pet if you care 9/25/2009

Do not trust this place. I took my dog there for a few months but once she had a semi serious problem there attitude changed and I started to see what I had been told of. That they are very money hungry. They where trying to overcharge me on everything. I took my dog to a few other vets and had price differences of hundred of dollars. I think because they are located on the east side they think they can take advantage of people. Be careful. The owner has been known to not care a whole lot about the animals he is looking after. His attitude really changed when I told him his price was an overcharge compared to every other vet in providence. If you care about your pet I would not take it to the eastside vet or any of the other places this guy operates. Beware. Pros: the owner is not usually there Cons: all they want is your money more
