I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 dulley, & I needed someone to check out my truck and tell me what the problem was. I googled transmission places in Austin, and Eagle Transmissions was the first on the list. I read all the reviews and decided to go in. Tim, the manager, was great. Up front and honest from the start, I knew I could trust him. He knows what he is talking about. I had a small problem & they checked it out and fixed it and they didn't charge from what they did. I told Tim I would write a review and tell my family and friends if they ever needed transmission work done to their vehicles, to bring it to Eagle Transmissions. If you don't believe what I'm saying, just take your vehicle in and see for yourself. I give these guys 5 stars in all categories. Thanks Eagle Transmission. RESPONSE FROM Eagle Transmission: South Austin: Thanks Joe for the great review. Glad we could help you out with your Dodge Ram. Let us know if we can be of further assistance in the future. Thanks to Team Tim and his Crew at Eagle Transmission. 3/13/2012

I have a 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer and it was having transmission issues and I decided to take it to a lube place and I spent $109.00to change the transmission fluid. I was told that this would take care of the problem. Two weeks later my trail blazer decided to coast down Highway 71. Being stranded on the side of the highway is way more embarrassing then being pulled over by Austins finest for speeding. My son, bless his heart, towed me home and refused to let me call a tow service. The next day I called the Chevy dealership and had it towed there. I was quoted a price for a NEW transmission $3200.00 or REBUILT starting at $1900.00. Blind faith drove me to my computer and googled TRANSMISSION SERVICES IN AUSTIN. And there was Eagle Transmission. I am sure I heard Angels singing over my shoulders. I clicked on the little video box and I believed every word that was spoken. I gave Tim a call and he assured me he would help me. After settling up with the dealership I had my trailblazer towed to Eagle. Tim called me before the end of the day and explained and quoted me the price to get it fixed. I held my breath, It was $1000.00 less then the dealership. I gave the ok to have my trail blazer fixed and it was ready in two days. Meeting Tim in person is exactly the Tim I spoke with on the phone. He is very compassionate at what he does. Thanks to Team Tim and his Crew at Eagle Transmission. . more

Honest, dependable, reasonable price 9/18/2011

We went to another transmission place first when my Ford 150 overdrive light started blinking, was starting in 3rd gear, and a/c went out same time. They wanted $500 to tear it down for openers and said when they got in it it would probably be $1800-2300 tops and even offered to buy truck for $600 since they said transmission would cost $2k. Took it to Tim at Eagle and for free he found leaks corrupting the cables carrying the diagnostic codes and some other things, quoted around $500 total, fixed everything promptly when promised and now everything works. First guys were "Peggy" sleazeballs but Tim and Eagle are honest and I'd immediately go there again next time I had a xmission probl. And first guy's warranty was 1 year (though you could buy longer one), Eagle's default warranty is THREE years. Happy customer and relieved it wasn't $2K. RESPONSE FROM Eagle Transmission: South Austin: Bob, thanks for the great review. We are thrilled that we were able to save you money and get you back on the rode in a timely manner. South Austin Eagle to the Rescue 7/28/2011

My trusty Subaru had a nervous drive-shaft breakdown during evening rush hour traffic on 183. Manager Tim dispatched tow truck immediately, even when it was after business hours. He also went out of his way to find a less expensive alternative to very expensive Subaru factory part, which saved lots of $$. Car was repaired promptly, and works great. Very fair and honest to work with, I highly recommend them. RESPONSE FROM Eagle Transmission: South Austin: Thanks for the review Maja. Thanks also for your trust in us. Glad we could be of assistance with getting your Subaru back on the road again. Let us know if we can be of further assistance in the future. Eagle Transmission more

Good service and evoking faith and trust in company 7/11/2011

Tim was very professional, and presented me a trustworthy impression. I brought my business to Eagle Transmission by a friend's referral. I could have paid a bit less, but Eagle's name and reputation gave me better confidence for such work on my Town Car. Tim and Joe are a good team, worked well with me and helped solved my problem. I've never walked away from spending so much on auto repairs feeling good about it. I did at Eagle Transmission. my TC back on the road again! I was SOARING! LOL John "Kutter" Rich, Nat. Couldn't have had a better experience 3/8/2011

The transmission in my 2006 Suburban first went out at 122,000 miles just outside New Braunfels. A local mechanic recommended a local shop. The local guy told me he could rebuild it for $1,500 including the tow - good deal right? Even warranteed the rebuild for 12 months / 12K miles. Fast forward eight months and twenty something thousand miles - here come the same problems that precluded the first rebuild. This time I had choices and a friend recommended Eagle Transmission. When i brought it in Joe and Tim told me it could be a lot of things - from a $26 part to a full rebuild. Well.....it was another full rebuild. I told the guys about my previous rebuild and gave them the receipt. They went over it part by part and verified that the other guy did in fact do everything he charged me for - he just didn't do everything he needed to do and he used shoddy parts. Joe walked me around the entire shop and explained the workings of an automatic transmission to me (black majic up to that point) and how they operate the shop, from the tear down tables through to the rebuild rack. I was really surprised by how clean and organized everything was. My Grandfather ran a shop, and it was nothing like this. Joe and Tim explained what had gone wong with my transmission and the repairs and upgrades they would do. Two days later I got my truck back and it was perfect. Having these guys do the job right cost me a few hundred dollars more than having someone else do it wrong. There's not a doubt in my mind that my transmission is back to 100%, and if I do have a problem in the future, I know these guys will stand behind their work and their 3 year 36K mile warranty. No one likes having their car worked on, and everyone has a story about being burned. Finding honest people to work on your car is a rare piece of mind. I couldn't recommend these guys more highly. more

I went in thinking the cluch in my pick up was too stiff. I expected I would need to replace the cluch. They drove it and found that it was fairly averave for its age. They checked the fluid level, topped it off and sent me on my way. I suspect another shop would have gotten me to replace the cluch even though I didn't need to. more

When the transmission went out in my son's 2002 Mercedes C240, I was referred to Eagle Transmission by a local mechanic and had it towed there. Having never dealt with them before, I didn't know what to expect. They did an excellent job in rebuilding my son's transmission and kept me informed during the entire process. Manager Tim Kilpatrick was most professional and courteous. I would recommend Eagle Transmission to everyone. Pros: Honest, informative, courteous Cons: None more

From Broken Transmission to Happy Disposition! 5/23/2010

In 2009 my son and I purchased a 2002 Acura RSX Type S in excellent condition, so we thought! The transmission went out so I asked around, I got yes and no's on AAMCO, Cottman and B&M. No one I asked had used Eagle Transmission, I chose them for that reason. I must say it's the best choice I've made in years. The shop is female friendly and Tim went above and beyond my expectations of service. There was communication on parts, prices and labor. He checked both local dealerships in town to acquire the most reasonable prces for parts he couldn't get himself, and even let us purchase the clutch we wanted from a 3rd party and they installed it! Eagle Transmission will now be our only shop for any type of transmission services and all that we recommend. The transmission rebuild and clutch replacement was all A+ work. My son Kris says it best, "The transmission now shifts like a hot knife through butter." Pros: Honest, Respectful, Quality Work Cons: None more
