Dearest ESSpa Kozmetika, You have truly changed my outlook on customer service. Every single person that I met was nothing but nice to me while I was there this past Saturday. I was greeted promptly and cordially as soon as I walked in. I was offered a cool and refreshing drink while I filled out my paperwork. I was escorted personally to the back by the young lady that would do my facial. That room in itself was the most relaxing place that I had ever been. She was very attentive to my needs, making sure at all times that I was comfortable and relaxed. My face afterwards was so smooth and soft. My skin is a little on the sensitive side, and not once did I feel that unknown burning sensation. I was then taken directly to the young lady that would be doing my manicure and pedicure. She was very friendly and talkative while not being overwhelming or pushy for information like some nail technicians can be. She changed the water for me just because it was a little too warm. We went into the pedicure room and she made me feel like I was the most important person in the world, sitting on those comfortable recliners. Again, I left one of your staff feeling like a million dollars. I was then taken to the wonderful massage room. The one that looks like paris, that was simply amazing. The woman has hands of gold. Pittsburgh's Best Spa 10/28/2011

I have been to several spas around Pittsburgh and Esspa is by far my favorite. first time I visited Esspa was about three years ago. The decor of the spa is unlike any I have experienced-- that in and of itself is worth a visit. The ambiance is very relaxing and exquisite. The staff is always kind and good about setting up appointments. The estheticians use the best quality products and are very skilled in their field. I have had problems with acne and recently began getting facials and peels with Heather. The results have been AMAZING. She is very knowledgeable about products, treatments and skin. She listens to my concerns and after looking at my skin has given me some of the most EFFECTIVE advice in caring for and improving my skin. It is definitely worth the price. I also recommend their waxes and massages. I always feel relaxed and refreshed after any treatment at Esspa. They run specials and packages from time to time so definitely check out their website before booking your appointment. more

Simply cannot be compared 1/1/2011

I first discovered this spa when I was pregnant with my first child, every mother knows what a toll this can take on your skin and beyond that your self confidence and identity. It seems strange to say that Eva and her care of my skin during this time was one of the brightest spots in my entire pregnancy, but it most certainly was. It may help to know that my husband lived thousands of miles away in another country so I was feeling isolated. I had to move away in my eighth month and I now live in Vancouver, BC, which has lots of spas, but there is no Esspa there is no Eva and there is no comparison. When I gave birth I swore I would send Eva a thank you and a photo then that was July 2, 2009. When the holidays came I wanted to send a nice note with a picture, which was also 2009. The holidays are approaching again and I am eight months pregnant with my second child and realize I may not have the time to put together a nice package that would arrive in the mail to express my gratitude, so I am settling for now, for this recommendation. I can guarantee you the first time I am home for a visit to Pittsburgh their phone will be ringing. The spa, the philosophy but mostly who Eva and her staff are and their skills and intuition simply cannot be replicated. Thanks for everything. - Bec more

You deserve it package! 12/13/2010

I went to this spa on my birthday for the you deserve it package. I got a facial with microderm, massage and amanicure. The over all experience was wonderful. I was actually really stressed when I went there becasue I had just turned 30. The staff and the atmosphere really relaxed me and I felt great when I left. The only thing that I regret is that I didnt get more treatments! more

Every chance I get, I recommend Esspa. It's because of the people who work there. They are so polite, calm & helpful. They are there to please & to make your visit a positive one. It's because of the expertise each one of them has. Just walking in to the beautiful environment starts your experience. Being greeted by the front desk by name is so welcoming. Robert can give the most relaxing massage you could ever ask for. Dorie gives a great bamboo massage. Eva puts her heart & soul into making your facial experience one that you want to come back to time and time again. She always gives you something a little unexpected... a shoulder rub, a foot massage or her valuable advise. When she put yogurt on my face, I asked her if it was organic & yes it was actually a yogurt that I eat. I could go on about how great Esspa is, but the bottom line to remember, we are all human & we all have difficult days, no one is perfect. Esspa goes out of their way to make things right, they are good people. I LOVE ESSPA, they are the BEST! more

Beware of cancellation by ESSpa 9/25/2010

When scheduling an appointment, customers must confirm with a credit card. ESSpa's cancellation policy is that customers must provide a minimum of 36 hours advance notice if you must cancel or change an appointment. No shows are charged 100% of the full service price. However, if ESSpa needs to cancel or change your appointment, they do so with no regard for the customer. I waited for weeks for a July appointment with Eva only for it to be canceled 1 ½ hours before my scheduled appointment even though staff had called me the day before to confirm my appointment. Unfortunately, I did not receive the supposed voice mail staff said they left on my cell phone right before my appointment. I arrived on time only to find out it had been canceled with no one else available to do the facial. Esspa’s cancellation policy is pretty strict for the customer. However, shouldn’t Esspa adhere to its own 36 hour cancellation policy or provide compensation to customers if unable to provide the services to hold itself equally accountable?? more

Relaxing and Ridiculous 8/24/2010

I'm giving my experience 4 stars rather than 2 because my facial with Erin was fantastic, however the rest of the experience was somewhat lacking. The blonde front desk woman was rude and at one point turned her back to me while I was speaking to her. I have read previous reviews about the spa where it seems many others have experienced similar behavior from this woman and I am left wondering why she is still employed by the spa. I watched "the blonde woman" offer a beverage to some clients and not others - I was not one of them. It wasn't until Erin greeted me for my appointment that I was offered a drink followed by what is probably the best facial experience I have received to date - and I have travelled extensively to an embarrassing number of spas over the years. She was thorough, polite and an overall joy to talk to and I will definitely go back to the spa for that reason alone. I just hope they will address the problems in the reception area as it isn't very receptive. more

I have visited this salon several times on my own and to renew gift cards. I enjoy going there but everytime I leave, I feel like I paid too much money for the most AVERAGE services including waxes, pedicures and massages. I have visited MANY salons in the Pgh and North Hills that are far superior in their services with either comparable pricing or costs less. Feels Like Europe 7/15/2010

The good? Bring a friend and you both get a treatment for the price of the more expensive of the two. Relaxing environment, quiet and soothing. Organic products. The Eva Saver email deals are incredible. The bad? Impossible to book same-day services, which makes it hard to take advantage of their Eva Saver deals or the two-for-one specials. Also difficult to book appointments for convenient hours, which leads me to believe that most of Esspa's clientele don't have day jobs. Weirdly small and open changing area. Labyrinthian interior. If you aren't saving money with a coupon or special, not really worth the price. Pros: Organic products, calm, soothing environment, amazing deals Cons: pricey, never seems to be available time, more

Torn 5/24/2010

I love the atmosphere of the spa and have had great experiences besided the rude receptionist at the front desk. She was unfriendly and unprofessional enough to make me not want to come back! Plus, I know who the owner is and she walks by without a smile or a hello. For me, I want the owner to at least offer a warm gesture when I'm spending thousands of dollars at her spa! more

Terrible first experience! 5/24/2010

I had my first experience at Esspa yesterday and I was excited after reading all of the positive reviews. Reception was friendly and professional, however, any memory of that immediately faded when Ginger, the eyebrow waxer, called my name and greeted me with a curt "Hi." We walked into the back of the salon in complete silence. She then proceeded to give me an okay eyebrow wax, but her bad attitude really ruined my experience. Trying to make conversation, I mentioned that I hadn't had my eyebrows done in a long time and that they probably looked terrible. Her reply? "Yea." I then mentioned that I had to have them done since I was 12 and she replied in an extremely condescending tone, "And how old are you now?" as if she was talking to a child and not a paying customer. Her bad attitude continued all the way back to reception where she stood as I paid and waited for me to tip her. Um...awkward!! $18 is way too much to pay for such an uncomfortable and unprofessional experience. Pros: Polite receptionists, decent eyebrow wax Cons: Rude waxer! and a little overpriced more

Best Spa 5/23/2010

Nestled in Aspinwall in a borough of Fox Chapel is ESSPA. Esspa is a hidden gem! This spa is straight out of LA! It is absolutely gorgeous and first class. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a cup of chamomil tea. I loved all the french additions to the spa. I had a facial and I was in love! It has only been hours and my face is already looking better. They are open everyday of the week - which is such a bonus! This is BY FAR the best spa in Pittsburgh. Very nice. 5/19/2010

This spa is great and I have had many different treatments there and have recommended Esspa to friends. My only complaint is the front desk person Karen, she is very pushy and quite rude. I have also seen her be quite terrible to the other younger girls at the front too or complain about other clients! how unprofessional. I wouldn't even comment, except I have seen this on multiple occasions. It is a shame that after a blissfull day having a treatment, on your way out of the door the receptionist is so nasty as you pay:( more

BAD LASHES 4/18/2010

I came to Esspa to get lash extensions. I had previously had them done in California and know a lot about them. Eva claims to be trained by Xtreme lashes but after my experience I do not believe she is. She applied certain lashes on me which are not meant for permanent glue. They began to pull out and damage my natural lashes due to the way they were applied. I do not recommend Esspa for lash extensions. I found Lashes by Allison and she did a great job, I highly recommend her, Cons: NOT TRAINED IN PROPER EYE LASH EXTENSIONS more

So hard to get an appointment 2/10/2010

After reading so many good reviews of facial with Eva, I booked an appointment for a facial. The first available appointment was for a month later and I took it because it was just in time for my vacation to India. Last minute the appointment was postponed to next day. I took that too. But that was canceled again. Now I had to leave for India to attend a special occasion and really wanted to get a facial. I was OK with getting the facial done by any other person too but that there was no option and too late to get an appointment in any other salon. Overall disappointing ! I have had pedicures in many salons and spas through the years but Esspa is the only one I go to now. It is a well deserved indulgence. They know how to make you feel special and the staff know their products and care about the customers. I tell everyone I know to go to Esspa. more
