Dundee Dell

....are super good. They taste even better after like 10 beers or a hangover. Eat them. I don't know what the rest of their food tastes like. more

The Dundee Dell has grown from a small restaurant on Dodge to an establishment a little north of the original. They still offer the great food that they did before but now have an expanded menu. They have an extensive Scotch menu and offer tastings and suggestions on flights and types of Scotch. The beer is still plentiful and the fun is even more so. Sometimes the crowd is largely from the colleges but all ages are welcome and blend in well. more

Dundee Dell has been around as long as I can remember. They used to be located on Dodge but moved to Underwood into some nicer digs. The atmosphere is mostly a younger crowd. The food is very tasty. The staff is usually friendly depending on who's working. It's fun to walk around Dundee after having a few drinks at the Dundee Dell. more

What did Bogie say in Casablanca...of all the gin joints in the world, you had to walk into this one, or something along that line? Well, if you have been in a smokey [the waitress says, it is ALL smoking here, with a smile (as if ALL smoking is a plus)...except and for some bizarre reason, in the room with the pool table...though I assume one is not permitted to drink the table] bar serving cheesey food (not cheese per se but the perjorative is the focus here), you have been here and probably, in better. Omaha is one of the towns in the Midwest that still believes smoking is ok, and bar owners - despite the evidence - still want it so the ginnies stay at the bar. Drinks: the usual, no complaints, the beer is cold. Food: don't bother unless you have had too many drinks, then it doesn't matter. If you want to eat, and are nearby, then go next door (Trovato's, a decent red sauce Italian) or across the street up a block to Marks, a very good bistro and Mirac! smoke free!) Service: usual chirpy service one encounters anywhere, no complaints Re the fish and chips: they appear to be fresh, but that said, both fresh fish and good fish and chips are rare in the Midwest. Make your own if you crave it. more

Without a doubt, the Dundee Dell in old Dundee serves the Best Fish and Chips in Omaha, if not in the entire country! The appetizers are also very good.The restaurant is a Friday staple at lent, but maintains a busy restaurant the entire year. There is also a full service bar that has a huge whiskey selection. Most of the times I have been there, there has been live jazz playing, which makes for a nice ambience. more
