I went for a state inspection, and the service rep (Loyd) told me one of my wipers failed, and that it would be $16 to replace. That was twice as much as I'd ordinarily pay, but I said OK. They charged me $36.67 plus tax ($30.72 for the blades and $5.95 labor). When I complained, the service rep told me it was a misunderstanding, and they offered to make it right. But I thought it would be better to call attention to this incident so that others are aware of potential misunderstandings at this desk. I would never have paid $37 for blades if they'd told me that's what it would cost. more

There's a limited selection of dealers in the Christiansburg/Blacksburg area, so your choice is limited by the make of vehicle you're willing to consider rather than by specific dealers for that make. In the case of Honda, fortunately, the available dealer is a great one to work with. We were greeted promptly by sales staff and they answered all our questions honestly and fairly. They were also extremely kid-friendly -- they didn't mind our two climbing all over their floor models, they answered the kids' own questions, and they also provide a moderately well-stocked play area for the kids. We weren't keen on the haggling process -- we named a price that was only marginally lower than their asking price and they still wanted to argue it, which seemed petty. They also offer a dealer warranty that goes well beyond the manufacturer's warranty, but only if you do all maintenance with them at a rate two to three times more frequent than the manufacturer's recommendations, by which point you'd have been better off putting the maintenance savings into an account and paying for your own repairs in the unlikely event of equipment failure within the warranty period. The actual purchase procedure went extremely smoothly. We financed through them and were quite happy with the deal we got. And, again, they kept up with our kids so we could focus on signing papers. All told, we liked this dealer far better than the other with whom we've had experience locally, and you can't beat the quality of the vehicles, so I do not hesitate to recommend them highly. more
