Drs. Emmett and Kogan

I have been taking my children to them for over 12 yrs.. The staff is fantastic and the office runs very efficient.. I love this office because I almost never have to wait, they are always available when needed (that is very important to me) and they have taken good care of my children. There is only one negative experience I had with them. Dr. Emmett is a great doctor but there are times where I feel hes so sure of himself that he tends to be reluctant to thinking "outside of the box" . ie.. my child had a bad cough, his answer is always asthma/allergies but even after all the asthma/allergy meds, I knew as a parent there was something else going on. I had gone back to him several times before we found out he actually had a WALKING PENUMONIA and needed an antibiotic STAT. I had taken him to the ER where they did an XRAY,etc. Dr. Emmett was still in denial even after we told him what the ER said. My child's insurance was terminated for a short period of time and we were paying cash. I was so mad at the doctor cause the ER visit cost me $2,000,. If he had just taken the time to listen to me and do what I ask, we would not have had to spend so much money. He will almost never prescribe an antibiotic, but hey sometimes its necessary. After a few days on the antibiotic, my son was like a new person. My husband was furious and didn't want us to take our kids there no more. However, I stayed because for the most part they are great. One time when my daughter was a baby and was running a high fever, Dr. Emmett came in from Long Island on a Sunday, just to see her. That for me was incredible. Most doctors will say, bring them to the ER. Dr. Kogan is also a very good doctor. more

Ive been using these doctors for the past seven years and they have been fantastic to me. For whatever has been ailing me they provide me with excellent care and will go out of their way to treat me. They have an excellent reception area and the waiting room is beautiful and has a television and plenty of magazines to keep you occupied while you wait for the doctor. There is a decent amount of parking so you should be able to find a spot on the street. I highly suggest you look up these doctors and use them the next time you are sick. more

I went to Drs. Emmett and Kogan for 2 years and had terrible experiences with them. Dr. Emmett was the worst. My son has developmental problems and we were trying to get help for him. We wanted to have allergy testing done because we felt that allergies might affect his behavior. At the time, with our insurance, we needed a referral for any specialists. He refused to give us one. Another time, my son's school told us that he failed the eye test and we should take him to an eye doctor. Once again, we tried to get a referral. Instead, he made my son read the chart and said he was fine, and wouldn't give us a referral again. My poor son said he couldn't see the board and we have since taken him to the eye doctor and he did need glasses. He was rarely friendly to anyone, even the children, and one time I heard him talking to the receptionist and he was making fun of one of the children's parents who just called him! He thought nobody was in the waiting room because I was waiting for my son to finish his speech therapy, which is in their office also. What kind of doctor does that? more
